Subaru Upgrade Speaker Kit by Kicker Subaru WRX STi Crosstrek Impreza H631SFJ001

This is a very good upgrade to the stock sound system with OEM compatibility making installation utterly simple (various install videos on YouTube, follow along step by step and truly anyone can do it).My one complaint is that the speakers are very apparently designed with the OEM Kicker subwoofer in mind and produce less bass than the stock system. While the sound is much improved, the bass output is less than what the stock speakers are capable of.The Kicker system is worth it, but I would strongly recommend you get a small subwoofer with it. I’ll probably have to add a hideaway sub to balance the sound properly.The reason this is mentionable to the average consumer who is not an audiophile is because these speakers, sold as a direct upgrade, absolutely output less bass than the stock speakers. This is not immediately knowable from any easily found information about this system, unless you dive in and read anecdotes on forums where it’s frequently mentioned. And importantly, I was satisfied with the level of bass from the stock speakers.The stock speakers with Bass EQ set to 1-2 is about equivalent to these Kicker speakers with the Bass EQ maxed out. It’s something that anyone purchasing these should consider or you may experience a degree of disappointment if you were trying to avoid adding a subwoofer (which is annoying and takes up valuable space).

Let’s face it , the Subaru factory speakers are horrible. This is an amazing upgrade and it’s OEM plug and play. I bought the OEM tweeter set also to top the whole package off. This is a must if you want to hear the highs lost playing music through the factory tweeters. With this whole set up I would suggest buying the Idoing head unit to give these speakers more power. Once I added a different head unit the sound was amazing.The factory head unit doesn’t have enough power to push these speakers to their potential. While running the speakers with the factory head they lacked bass but were very clear. I do suggest pairing these with an aftermarket headunit or the Idoing headunit. I may add the subwoofer to complete the package.

Pros: I have a 2020 STI and I upgrade the junky factory speakers with these. It was a breeze to install and sound amazingly better than factory. I have the stock head unit and I can turn the volume to max without any distortion.Cons: As other reviews have mentioned, the bass aspect is truely lacking. Also, I've read that max watt is around 65w. If you're going to and add an amp for thesee door speakers, i wouldn't recommend these. Yes, they are easy to install; but if using an amp, you can getter better quality speakers for cheaper and you'll only need a few additional minutes to slice and secure speaker wires.Summary: I would 100% recommend if you're trying to improve sound and don't plan on adding an amp to these.

These speakers are light years apart from the junky factory speakers in my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. Though they don't provide the loudest or thump-iest bass, they sound so clean, and even at volume half way they sound crisp, loud and clean, as opposed to the factory speakers where you had to crank it to hear anything... I suggest you go into the settings and play around with the treble, bass, mid, etc. etc. to optimize the sound for you. I also suggest getting the Kicker Tweeter upgrade (for me it was a H631SFJ101), they really do tie everything together. Anyway I'm very happy with this purchase, shipped INCREDIBLY fast (like, literally 6 days before the estimated date) they work great, and the price was good. Strongly recommend.

My stock speakers were blown so I bought these. These speakers are amazing compared to the stock ones that come in the 2015 WRX. Extremely easy to install, took me 25 min to change all 4 (if you have the tools ready and know what you're doing). Just watch a video or 2 on how to remove the door panels and how to remove the old speaker. Sound quality is pretty high on these speakers without having an amp or sub, the bass is very nice too. The only downside is that they are a bit pricy, but I guess that's why they're so convenient to install.
