Q: is it good at detangling dry curly hair?

You’ll have made your decision now but for anyone else - on thick curly hair we’ve found it brilliant for getting some tangles out painlessly but it doesn’t get through all the hair / get the worse tangles out so need a follow up brushing! (We are using a wetbrush but I don’t recommend as it started falling apart too quickly).

Q: Is this brush suitable for hair extensions

Absolutely. I bought it for my extensions as well has another brush and this is definitely the best. It's flexible and doesn't get caught, just have to be careful when brushing over the bonds, tilt the brush to the side. Wouldn't use anything else, might even buy another one.
