Strong enough for a dog that pulls and for pulling up my dog
I've been using this specific harness for my dog for over five years now, in various colors. The most recent one I ordered will be gifted to him in about two weeks for his birthday. He's a puller, and he's never broken free from this harness. It has a front loop that you can latch your leash onto to train your dog out of that behavior, but that strategy hasn't worked well for my dog, so your mileage may vary. Today we had a particularly unpleasant experience when an off-leash dog in our neighborhood lunged at us out of nowhere and bit him. Luckily she got a mouthful of this harness and my dog's t-shirt instead of breaking skin. I was able to immediately pull my dog up into my arms by the leash and this harness. He weighs 12 lbs, and the harness he was wearing today is his oldest one (five years old). He was completely safe being lifted in this way because the harness is so sturdy and fits him well. Honestly, I bought the most recent one for cosmetic reasons and because the reflective piping on the old one is finally showing wear and tear after all these years. I always trust this brand's harnesses and leashes with my dog's safety, and will continue to do so for as long as they remain in business.

Our dogs say two paws up!
The media could not be loaded. Update. A year of running through the brush and woods, camping and walking with our rough and tumble beasts and these harnesses are still the best I have ever owned.Bella's is starting to show some effects of the wrestling and competition for the ball. Boonie likes to half stand on her back with his front paws as he is running back with the ball. It is funny to watch and amazing that he can run for a few feet with his front paws on her back while she is also running. It is only cosmetic damage probably from his claws. there are a couple of quarter inch spots on the edge where the orange fabric has pulled from the binding but the harness is still strong. I use the handle to help lift both dogs in and out of the truck.Bella's harness also came in very handy when she had surgery on her neck for a pharyngeal abscess and couldn't wear a collar but needed the cone of shame so she wouldn't scratch at the incision site. I have a soft cone. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005U6GMJW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I was able to creatively attach it to the harness with it's velcro strap. It wasn't easy but it worked great and I could take the whole contraption off of her when needed and didn't have to worry about getting it back on because that was easy. Just like putting the harness on normally. Cone on dog without collar and she was comfortable even if she hated it.When these ones get old I will gladly buy the same ones again. I don't think that will be for a few years yet though. Adding new pics of them in the teardrop and tied out to the spiral stake during our eclipse camping trip.Last years review follows: These TrueLove harnesses are now my favorite harnesses. We bought them before going on a three week trip camping across the country and back with our two Field Bred Springers last Sept and Oct 2016. They fit 43 lb Bella and 45 lb Boone great but could be adjusted much larger for a bigger dog. I have them fit snug to prevent grass, sticks and burrs getting between the harnesses and the skin.We wanted something that would be comfy for them to wear, easy for them to walk and play in, easy to help them in and out of our big truck, something reflective for visibility and easy to get on and off. I chose the blaze orange because at home we live in the woods and there are hunters around in the fall and our dogs run in the acreage out back and in the woods when we are enjoying nature. Orange is the best color to see in the woods and is universal language for hunters.A plus is the front dee. I like the tag mesh to keep the jingle quiet even though I haven't used it yet. The front dee has made walking Boone dog a pleasure. I work with him on leash but he is just so exuberant that he can't help himself and pulls. He will choke himself with a training collar and I am always afraid his regular collar will come off when I need it to stay on. Clipping the leash on the front of this harness makes him spin around when he wants to run after a squirrel or pull hard. My arm is so happy.I read that tip in the reviews before I bought these and with all the choices on Amazon it helped me decide to buy these over other good looking and functionally similar harnesses. When we were at the camping event we traveled for they made name tags for the dogs too and we clipped them to the top dee webbing. Everyone there loved the harnesses. There were lots of dogs but ours were the only ones who were reflective and high visibility.I knew I had chosen the right harnesses for us when they arrived and I adjusted them to fit each dog. They are very adjustable and strong enough to pick up our 45 lb male with the handle. We tested it to make sure it would stay on in case we needed pick him up to put him in the truck or to haul him out of a mud hole or if he went through ice. He is the adventurous one and even though we haven't needed that functionality it is nice to know the harness can take it. They way these fit make it possible. They didn't rub anywhere and the dogs wore them all day every day for three weeks and even after wearing them at home they still look new. I haven't let Boone wear his to swim or roll in the mud though. I am sure that will be the test when the snow melts in May.Video is of Bella and Boone in Missoula Montana playing in the October tall grass while wearing these harnesses. They were tired by the time I shot this. You should have seen the springing kangaroo dogs when they were fresh. The harnesses fit so great it is like they aren't even wearing them. Even my Canine Search and Rescue friend loved these harnesses when she saw them and her dogs have top of the line gear.

Chai's Choice Harness Works for Us
I had been researching for almost a year prior to purchasing this product for an alternative to using a Gentle Leader. I have a large dog who has leash aggression, and a medium dog who is full-blown neurotic. Both dogs go haywire enough during walks to take you wakeboarding on concrete.I purchased a Large for my bigger dog (Lab mix, approximately 75 lbs) and a Medium for my medium dog (Lab-Chow mix, approximately 45 lbs and completely insane).Although the Gentle Leader did work effectively, I needed to find an alternative for the following reasons:1. Both my dogs pull so hard that the Gentle Leader leaves marks on their faces and causes dryness on their skin where the face harness is placed.2. My medium dog - despite how tight and secure I fastened the Gentle Leader - could still escape. It got to the point where I've nearly died trying to stop cars in the middle of the street from running her over as she darts towards other dogs. I needed to find an alternative for safety and to avoid further embarrassment from everyone who stares in horror each time this happens. When I received the harness, I was actually surprised at how much better it looks in-person than it does in the pictures. Here's a short breakdown of what I think about this harness:1. Adjustment/Fit - This was a bit of a challenge. It took me around 10 mins of trial and error to get the fit just right for each dog (trial and error). You have to spend time getting this just right. You only have to do it once. I suspect some people who say the harness does not fit probably don't know how to adjust it. It's a bit tricky but not by any means overly-difficult. My first impression was also that the harness looked too small (for both dogs). After getting the adjustment right, I found that they were sized correctly and this was by design. It's important to note that you have to adjust these in order that they fit firm and snug, especially with the strap that goes around the torso area. I made the mistake of putting too much slack the first time I used this and my medium-sized escape artist was able to make a clean getaway and go after the people walking their dogs across the street (so embarrassing). My dog was able to back-out of the harness on the first walk. After making the necessary adjustments, I have not had the same problem. My dog has had several neurotic encounters top the point that she's tried to backflip out of the harness and it didn't work. That harness stuck to her like a Facehugger from Xenomorph Prime.2. Build - My first impression was that it might not hold since my dogs both tug like they're pulling a Roman chariot into battle. I've been using the harness on both dogs for over 2 weeks now and they're very sturdy. The harness seems to handle the force without a problem.3. Safety - This harness is reflective all around (orange and white). I usually try to walk my dogs at night when there are less people walking their dogs. It's impossible to avoid every encounter but minimizing it helps me retain my sanity.4. No pull - Nope. My dogs still pull. The harness does make it easier to control them. It is suggested that you use the bottom hook for pullers but I've never tried it. I have to use the top hook because I walk my dogs in tandem with a leash coupler (I didn't use a coupler before buying this harness).5. Ease of Use - You only have to adjust the harness once. I'm not sure why others are complaining that theirs comes loose and needs constant readjustment. My dogs constantly tug in different directions during our daily walks (usually around 2 miles) and I haven't had any problems with my harness straps getting looser.I've also found that this harness is much easier to put on than a Gentle Leader. You just put it over your dog's head and fasten the belt that goes around the torso. Removal is also relatively quick.I've also noticed that my dogs are way more comfortable walking with these harnesses on than they were with the Gentle Leader. When we walked with the Gentle Leader, there was constant face-scratching and rubbing-face-into-grass. I don't get any of that with this harness. It also helps that my medium-sized dog no longer has to walk around looking like Hannibal Lecter. (I had the leash double-fastened into a Gentle Leader and a self-tightening nylon collar as a safety precaution. She would be able to remove one or the other at times, but was never able to wiggle out of both before I could swoop in and grab her.)I would recommend this harness but cannot guarantee that it will work for you. Each person and each dog will have different needs. The Chai harness just happened to fit mine. I'm glad I bought it. If you decide to get one for your dog, I hope it works just as well.

Disappointed.
Well waited a week on delivery for this and then turns up, more like a 10 pound harness. Stitching not very good and size is definitely not a xtra large, so their size is wrong their straps where maxed out on him and still to tight. It all looks a lot bigger on the pictures so be warmed. Sent back straight away.

Decided to change her slip lead to the harness to take any pressure off her neck and whilst she is walking better as opposed to
My12 month old labrador puppy has problem with her front legs. Decided to change her slip lead to the harness to take any pressure off her neck and whilst she is walking better as opposed to pulling it is very much her mind set that needs changing which I am working on. Never had a lead walking problem with any of my other labs so this is a new experience.

Clip broke after 5 weeks!
This is a great harness, easy to adjust and it fits really well. The reflective straps are good for night walks. Mud wipes off easily from it and it's dries quickly. I've only given it 2 stars as one of the clips as broken after only 5 weeks. I've looked to see if there are contact details for the supplier to request another clip, as it would be easily fixed, but can't find any. Would order another but I'm worried it will break again.

I really like this harness
I really like this harness, however bought for my German Shepherd and its a little snug around his shoulders and back of his legs, I got the extra large as well. So wouldn't say its a great fit for the larger dog? Its also quite loose at the front of the leg and neck, just wish it was proportioned a little better. The front lead clip is great to deter pulling.. however if your dog walks infront, due to the looseness around the neck the harness pulls right to the side of the lead and sits very odd.I love the padding, reflective parts and the loom of it, just doesn't come together as well as I had hoped.

Easy to clip on and off
Very smart and appears comfortable. Standard poodle pup 7 months have tried several he chews them or wriggles out. This one I just hold it up and. he comes to get in that speaks for itself.
