Is t70 the same as 277?

According to the Nylon Thread Guide I presume that by t you mean TEX number. If so then t70 strength is 11 pounds and .29 mm average thickness. 277 is average strength is 45 pounds and average thickness is .59mm. Needle size on t70 is 100/16 to 110/18. Needle size on 277 is 180/24 to 220/26. Hope this helps.

I think the last numbers in the size (in this thread the last numbers are: 210 D/3) mean this thread is 210 denier and 3-ply.

Can you use this in quilting? I'm making a picnic quilt with outdoor fabric on the back but cotton on the top. Just wondering how this would look?

I have used this thread while both quilting and sewing bags/purses on my heavy duty singer machine. I have not tried it on my long arm quilting machine as it is very temperamental and will only work with So Fine quilting thread. This is a tough thread that holds up well and comes in a good variety of colors.

Will this work for a windchime?

I'm not tried it for that but I will say that it's the strongest thread they make for sewing for heavy leather also vinyl it should do just fine... One thing you also could use was monofilament the weather will not bother it
