I used input from a receiver and that worked. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works very well *by on Reviewed in the United States January 28, 2018* I have an old sub-woofer that I rebuilt and the amp plate was not working very well. I was looking to buy another amp plate and saw this product. Given the difference in price I decided to risk it and purchase this amplifier. I was surprised at how good it sounds and how easy it was to hook up. I took out the old amplifier plate and then put connectors with leads to the woofer on a wood plate. I put the this unit on top of the sub box and then connected to the main amplifier sub-woofer connection. I had to put an RCA splitter on the cable and then connected everything via an RCA to mini plug for the input. I used banana plugs for speaker connections to sub-woofer amp. The unit does not come with a power adapter but I had a 12v 6amp power adapter and it worked just fine. So far so good. Sound is clear with plenty of power for a 10 inch driver. I am going to order another one as I have another sub woofer project in the offing and will be using the Nobsound as the amp. A couple of things for buyers: This amp requires a separate power supply - the list clearly says this but, of course, I missed that. You can use your own power supply, but since this vendor has a cheap power supply that works, I ordered it and it was there the next day - great service! Easy to setup the amp and power supply (took like 2 minutes) and the bass sound is outstanding!For tech geeks only: the instructions and the website have one MINOR spec contradiction: The amp supports woofer speakers that are as low as 2 ohms and as high as 8 ohms of impedance. The instruction page that comes in the box says it only supports 4 ohms to 8 ohms of impedance, not 2. I am satisfied with it and will keep it. It stays cool at high volumes (8-ohm load).However, here's a few points:(1) The info card states a Terminating Impedance: of 4-8 ohm load.. I think you should disregard the 2 ohm in Amazon spec.(2) They state the terminators are for Banana plugs, but you can connect bare wire by unscrewing the terminals to reveal holes in the posts that can accommodate up to 14 gauge wire.(3) Don't expect good sound anywhere close to 100w with the recommended power supply.(4) An 8-ohm load will sound good up to about 25 watts with the ported enclosure I have - plenty loud for a large room.
