3.5. I run rca into a 3.5 from my radio

Power on/off creates a loud annoying pop. I would like to shut the output with a capacitor to suppress the pop. What capacitor value and voltage?

I was very concerned with the very loud pop and found the only solution was to use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B097T2YNB4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 I use this as the speaker cable and before shutting off the amplifier, I flip the switch on the speaker cable, disconnecting the speaker from the amp. It works perfectly.

will this work with an input from a preamp?

Not sure. I used input from a receiver and that worked.
