A Must for Those in the Mental Health Field and for Practicing Buddhists
What happened here? How could a book with so much to offer slide into limited used availability? Perhaps because it’s not main stream Freudian psychology the mental health field overlooks it, and because it’s not titled as Buddhist large numbers of that community don’t discover it? For both groups this book needs to be kept in publication beyond kindle. It superbly describes the Buddhist path in terms of Western psychology, just what is most needed for Buddhism to get its just due. Here is the future of modern mental health.

Mindfulness is a way of living and not just about meditating
This is the best book ever written on Mindfulness to date. It is the only book that covers the theory and practice of informal mindfulness in detail i.e. mindfulness applied to everyday life. Most books only cover formal mindfulness, which is meditation. Please note the following, which may change your life, they are specific attitudes that modulate attention during the practice of mindfulness:1. Non-judging: Impartial witnessing, observing the present moment without evaluation and categorisation.2. Non-striving: Non-goal-oriented, remaining unattached to outcome or achievement.3. Non-attachment: Letting go of grasping and clinging to outcome and allowing the process to simply unfold.4. Acceptance: Seeing and acknowledging things as they are in the present moment.5. Patience: Allowing things to unfold in their time.6. Trust: Developing a basic trust in your experience.7. Openness (Beginner’s Mind): Seeing things freshly, as if for the first time.8. Curiosity: A spirit of interest, investigation and exploration.9. Letting go: Non-attachment, not holding on to thoughts, feelings, experience.10. Gentleness: A soft, considerate and tender quality; however, not passive, undisciplined, or indulgent.11. Non-reactivity: Ability to respond with consciousness and clarity instead of automatically reacting in a habitual, conditioned way.12. Loving-kindness: A quality embodying friendliness, benevolence and love.
