Replaces a 2u APC SmartUPS 1500. Interesting...
The Smartups rack mount 1500 is LONG, meaning it's deep. It runs almost as deep as a 1u server. The SmartUPS is also a bit thinner than this replacement unit. Ah, but this unit is 'shorter'.The old SmartUPS was on full depth rack rails, and needed them. They screwed in front and back. This new unit is a 3u vertical space, but is less than half the depth of the previous unit. Tradeoffs? But I didn't want to have to put another massive unit in the top of this rack. I still can't remember who decided to put it 'up there', but it makes some sense, I suppose. (If it ever floods?) And I had the extra space for this taller unit. But this APC unit is not as heavy, and is smaller, so it's a win win. Setup was generally a breeze. This also includes the network attachment included: nice. Oh, and they threw in a cable too! Nice, thanks APC!This unit is perfect for two post racks. It's perfect for short racks, it's not really meant to be sitting on someone's desk, or table, but I suppose it could be put anywhere. And the face of this unit looks very impressive. I really like the aluminum face of this model. It might be a pain to get it off at some point, but it looks awesome. 5*...

Solid unit
Considering the weight I would have liked full rail support and the rear universal 6” rack ears are a bit of a joke. Otherwise it’s a solid unit.I wish I could tell you why the MMC card costs $400 and shame on APC for making this cloud managed only. If you don’t opt for the MMC card it still has a network connection but very limited options via APCs portal. Needs a paid subscription to manage properly, maybe that why the MMC card costs so much. Pay up front or pay overtime, either way APC gets your money. With everything in the rack it runs about 54 minutes and considering this is Sinewave it still sets off the Panamax alarms when tripped.

Good with slight quality control issue
Have had this UPS installed in a network rack for a restaurant for a year now with no issues. I like how the fan doesn't turn on until the load gets higher. How high it has to go for the fan to turn on, I don't know as It was only operating at about 15 percent with all the equipment I have plugged in. I like the front aluminum face plate, it really makes the unit look sharp and professional. But the reason I knocked off a star is because of that faceplate actually. It is attached to the unit with 4 screws, one in each corner. In the middle of the plate it is bowed slightly, so the plate doesn't sit flat against the unit. All APC had to do it is add 2 more screws in the center of the plate. I mean come on APC!! For a unit that almost 2k, little details like that shouldn't be overlooked. I do also like the fact the unit is light and not as deep as most lead acid battery units. Time will tell if this unit will hold up, and if the batteries really last 10 years.

looks great with ubiquiti gear
ups was easy to install and wire up,smart connect feature is pretty useless without paid subscription so opt for the 9641 NMC card to monitor and send alerts to devices to shut down if power outage is prolongedhave a full 12u rack running off of it. gives me about 30-40 minutes of battery when everything is running. nvr, server, switch and other accessoriessignificantly lighter in weight and shorter depth than the lead acid counterpart

It is very reliable
I am using to power a rack. It works !! Design is great too. It replaces a traditional one which lasted 3 years

Does not include correct mounting hardware!
Have now bought two of these (2U lithium) and both of them came with the same bag of completely incorrect mounting hardware. The rack ears are clearly for a 3U device and the screw holes on them don't line up with anything on the UPS. There are also no screws suitable to mount the front faceplate (they are all too large). I called APC and they *insist* the bag of items sent with the UPS is correct -- IT IS NOT.APC used to be great and I have bought many of their UPSes through the years. They are completely incompetent now.DO NOT BUY.

It does the job, but costs too much and the software should never have released
A $1,000 UPS shouldn’t cost me hours of labor to troubleshoot how to set up. Can’t get to the web interface, can’t install firmware updates. It comes with a CD-ROM. It’s the year 2024 and I have to find a way to use the CD to finish setting this thing up. Beautiful in my rack and quiet at least.

Years of reliable battery life!
Great replacement for lead acid battery UPS.

Works perfectly. Big improvement.
Used it to replace a lead-acid battery unit. It worked well but was forever failing due to dead batteries. I couldn't rely on it. This one with Lithium batteries should be much better. I ran a test at 220 watt load and it predicted 32 minute run time. I ran it for 8 minutes and the battery dropped from 99% to 73%, so the predicted run time seems pretty accurate. The unit is VERY heavy so plan on placing it on a solid surface.
