We have a few of these in our homes for emergencies. Great flashlight and the lighter is a plus for candles and solo stove ignition

Not bright enough

I was excited to get this for my bug-out bag. There was no charge cable in the box although one is pictured. I had a cable so I plugged it in and charged it for well over an hour until the light went out. There are no real instruction save a card with print that you will need a magnifier to read, but it is very vague. So after the charge light went out I figured out which button to push (NOT the one on the miniature chinglish card) and it arced for about five seconds and stopped. Pushed it again and it arced for a millisecond and stopped. I charged it again and tried it again, same same. So I assume this would work if you have your material all together for your fire and maybe soaked it well in gasoline or another accelerant. But you only get one chance! So obviously I'm returning this and won't order another.

Unfortunately the lighter doesn’t work when it’s cold. Even with a full charge it will not work at all when the weather is cold. So basically you have to keep it in a warm place until you have to use it

The YOZWOO plasma lighter is a nice little unit. I have been wanting a plasma lighter to take camping because I am tired of matches that won't light due to the humidity, and lighters that are out of butane or just won't light. This YOZWOO lighter not only fills that need, but it is also a LED flashlight and a compass!First of all, you need to charge it up. This is simple with the included USB cable. The connector is on the side of the chrome part under the flip top. Just plug it in and watch the status light.To use the lighter, just flip the top open and press the button on the size. Bzzzzzt! Very fun to look at, and yes -- you can light stuff on fire with it! I love the idea of a lighter that I can "refill" from any USB outlet!To use the flashlight, you'll press the same button, but with the flip-top closed. Like many LED flashlights, the button will cycle between bright, dim, and blinking. I was surprised with the quality of the LED. A lot of times when something comes with an LED light as a secondary feature, they cheap out with a dim or poorly focused light. This is not the case with the YOZWOO. The light is a nice white color (not too blue), and would actually be very functional for walking along a pathway at night or trying to find something in your trunk.The compass actually works! Like any other magnetic compass, you'll need to be away from magnets, motors, and anything else what might interfere. This compass matches up to the compass on my iPhone.If you are giving this as a gift, you'll like that it comes in a small, nice-looking box. The box is cardboard, but the lid has a nice faux leather look to it. Make sure you or the receiver of the gift looks under the tray inside! That's where you'll find the lanyard and the USB charging cable.

The media could not be loaded.  EDIT: Still a 5 . I took this item on a multi day backpacking trip. Temps at the night dropped to below 25 degrees. I was hoping this unit would be unaffected by cold and altitude like butane lighters. It is not affected by altitude like butane, but the cold would affect the battery and the units ability to spark. Simply put it in your pocket like butane for warmth and it will spark with no issues. I will use it again on trips, but treat it like butane and keep it warm for battery life. All batteries seem to be affected by cold.Item arrived almost fully charged.This is a good little package deal for camping or backpacking. It has a flashlight that's decent and can illuminate the trail in a pinch as well as if you just have to go to the bathroom.Compass is just like other small bubble compasses, a bit of a joke. With that said that little joke could send you in the correct direction if needed, it pointed north for me.I let paper on fire, melted 550 cord and started some homemade difficult to start fire starters.I have a butane lighter from a reputal company that won't work at altitude (5000ft). This will work at altitude even in windy conditions.The price seems reasonable for what you get and it includes a lanyard and charging cord.I didn't rate battery life because I haven't had it long enough I am taking it on a backpacking trip and will add that when I return.I always give honest reviews because that is what I would like to read if I was researching a new product.

Only works 6-7 time's before you need to recharge.
