Our family love Monopoly, but as most know
Our family love Monopoly, but as most know, the game can take quite a while to finish. This is where the "bank cards" and "banking machine" come in to play - without having to deal with all of the paper money, it cuts down on the time needed to play the game. If you have bouncy or ADD kids like mine, it helps prevent money from going missing and the area needed to play takes up less space because of this, so we can play on the couch or bed. Playing in a comfortable area aside from a kitchen table is a plus for me since I am disabled and need to be seated in comfortable seating such as the couch or bed.I was the banker the first time we played and got the hang of the banking machine really quick. Half way through the game I was a whiz at working the machine, which again, helps the game take up less time. Since I was playing with 2 bouncy kids, I kept everyone's bank card in front of me and had them lay out their properties in the center of the game board facing them. I propped the board up on the boxes it comes in and put it in bed so we were able to comfortably lounge around during this last North Eastern blizzard and play Monopoly all day.The game pawns are plastic and colored, which matches the colored bank cards. Since I keep the bank cards in front of me for quicker banking when I'm playing with my bouncy kids, if I forget which bank card belongs to who, I just need to match the colored pawn to the card.Overall a GREAT game that not only reflects our modern age electronic banking in real life, but helps lend to a quicker, less messier game! Now, if only they made the Doctor Who Electronic version...

FUN upgrade on a game for years ago
This was a hit at Xmas with my family. 3 adults and 3 teens. I was the banker and the rest were super capitalists, buying everything they landed on. The upgrade was a nice touch with the electronic ATM and card system making the game go very fast indeed. The banker doesn't need to keep track and the players just see their money come and go. I think this could be an excellent way to teach bank card use to young ones but there isn't much accountability with the system as it stands, this works well to have flow in this game but doesn't help with the teaching angle. The trick we did learn was that you should BUY BUY BUY and make sure you get a monolopy as fast as you can or the game drags on with millions in the bank and no end in sight. The 14yo bought the railroads and cleaned up big time but since no one else would sell at a reasonable price we ended up going till 2am with no true winner except each of us bc we had such a fun time. Well, except for the fanagaling to get the owners to sell. And no one landed on the coveted Park Place until everything was bought up.

pretty good, less pieces than traditonal monopoly!!
i have been a avid monopoly player over the years, my daughter (8 years old) loved the deluxe edition i have of monopoly. that particular game i got for christmas in 1993 or 1994 and it is still in nearly flawless shape.i was originally going to get her the traditional monopoly, but thinking about it i thought to myself, how nice would it be not to have to keep track of ALL that monopoly money?! so i purchased this on amazon.the game is in millions and 100K denominations. the days of the the $450.00 board walk and park place are over. rent and properties now go for a couple million a piece. with this game you get the tradtional cheap plastic game pieces (4 in all) one banking unit and dice. chance and community chest cards are with the set too.houses and hotels are cheapo plastic. there are 4 debit cards with the game. these debit cards are used for transactions, buying, selling, paying fines, taxes, etc.each player starts with 15 million. passing go you get 2 million. the included instructions are helpful. everything is done money wise from the electronic banking unit. it runs on 2 AAA batteries. pretty straight forward and easy to use. just read the included instructions. they are well written and easy to understand. it seems that this version goes faster than traditonal version because there isn't all that paper money to count.if you can get past the big denomiations of currency and such, it's not a bad game. held my daughters interest for a few hours.

fun fun fun!!!
i bought this as a gift. i played it 3 times already and it's fun everytime. who doesn't like monopoly? what ever you do, don't play it drunk. i made that mistake. while putting away all the pieces i dropped one of the credit cards on the floor. i put the box in the closet and walked out into the living room where i found a pretty yellow plastic credit card. i put the credit card in my wallet thinking it was my american express gold card, i love my points. anyways, a couple of days later i went to the police station to pay a speeding ticket (i have a heavy foot). the nice lady at the counter tells me how much i owe and i open my wallet and hand her my gold card. she runs the card but it wouldn't go through. long story short, i just got probation for trying to pay a ticket with monopoly money. all that aside, it's a fun game.

Always check item when received.
My son was very excited to get this gift. As we went to play and put the batteries into the card reader we found old battery acid inside. We couldn't get the card reader to work at all.

Good old Monopoly is a great game for family or ...
Good old Monopoly is a great game for family or friends. This electronic banking game uses the same board as the original, however it does away with all those banknotes. Game is restricted to between 2 - 4 players, unlike the original Monopoly. Each player gets a plastic card, like a credit card & the enclosed battery driven card reader keeps score. Requires 2 AA batteries which are not included. Quite sophisticated. Also quite educational for youngsters, should they be the banker. Game still has the 2 sets of cards, Community chest & Chance, just like the original. Very good value. My only slight criticism is that the actual came pieces are made of cheap plastic rather than the good old fashioned metal. However, it's still a great game & lots of fun.
