Basco Classic Sliding Shower Door, Fits 44-47 inch opening, Obscure Glass, Silver Finish

At first you may think this is a great deal... the description misleads you into believing this will be not too bad of a DIY project for someone who is well versed at such things. Well, I'm here to say that this is the biggest pain of a project I have EVER invested in (and I've done some big ones). Our first shipment was completely damaged, but we didn't notice until we've already installed the frame. The glass panels came with parts that were scratched, damaged, and missing essential components. I called Basco (which I found, has pretty prompt -though ornery- customer service) and they informed me that this was an issue with Amazon... not them. Great, so I contacted Amazon and they offered me a refund. Amazon was good about accepting responsibility and offering a full refund, but we already invested so much time, bought tools (you need to buy a miter box and saw to complete (I also suggest a rubber mallet if careful), and drilled into our shower unit to install this thing. So, Amazon sent a replacement. It took days. Days without a shower. Then the replacement shipment never arrived and Amazon told me to wait even more days. So, we waited.... and now weeks are passing and we still have no shower door. It finally arrived yesterday and we promptly worked to finish the job. I can't believe how cheap Basco is with the parts and we even had to saw the towel bar to fit the glass (not sure why they couldn't send it in the right size)... also, simple cheap parts were missing in the packaging. So, we finally finished the job and the shower door doesn't look great... it's just 'fine' and a reminder of the headache and annoyance of dealing with Amazon, Basco, and cheap parts. If I had to do it again, I would've spent more to get a better quality door that was easier to install.

We had a professional install this.When the product arrived brackets were broken so the installer had to use different brackets and when he was installing the door it shattered tried to contact seller but no response yet hoping to get a warranty on the shattered door. I gave it a three because it is easy to install and it looks good. Would have given it a five star if brackets were not bent and glass so easy to shatter.

I had a very frustrating install process that included a 30 minute wait on hold to ask a question. The screws that are supposed to go into the anti-jumps simply don't fit. The screws in the instruction manual don't match the part you receive (specifically SCR11). The thin bumper lining on the base track is not mentioned (or shown) anywhere in the instructions. Part of the instructions were cut off the page leaving me to guess at what they said.The final product looks very nice, but boy was this frustrating to install.

Overall this is a nice product for the money. My disappointment was with missing screws, loose hardware and sketchy instructions. I was missing the two screws for the center guide. Good thing I had some laying around. The hanger brackets were loose - one was almost falling off. The screws were partially stripped so I had to be extra careful tightening them down. The adjustment screws for the rollers were also loose. I will upload a photo if it will let me.

There were some negative reviews on the Basco product that made me question whether to buy it or not. I have installed many shower doors and the Basco product felt much more substantial and fit together better than most. We will continue to purchase Basco products. Easy installation (we are pro's), fast shipping and although the package was slightly damaged, the product itself was very secure and there was no damage whatsoever. Robust unit for the price.

This is a great bang for the buck. Most in this color, with privacy glass in this size are $550+ at big box stores. Nice quality real glass and quality finish on the metal. The instructions were only “ok” if it had more intuitive instructions it’d be a 5. I still wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

Had a fantastic experience buying from Basco. I was installing and one of the doors shattered in my hands. I had already hung one and was putting the other in the same way and it just burst into a million pieces. Obviously a strength defect in the piece. Anyway I called Basco and they promptly shipped me another door with no trouble at all.

Easy to install except for the final anti skip tracks... can’t figure out how to secure them. It arrived with a dent in the side rail. It did not effect the performance but normally I would have returned it
