They powered on, but mounting became inconsistent, transfers slowed to a crawl, and behavior that had been rock-solid simply disappeared overnight. What had been professional storage turned into a forty-terabyte exercise in frustration.Then came customer support—the great Seagate help desk, where logic goes to take a long nap or Wesley is on vacation. I have now exchanged dozens of emails with Seagate, documenting the problem in painstaking detail. I've provided serial numbers, screenshots, operating system information, testing results, case numbers, and every troubleshooting step imaginable. I've swapped cables, replaced power supplies, reinstalled macOS from scratch, tested different ports, and ruled out virtually every environmental variable. Yet after dozens of email exchanges, I still don't have accountability or a definitive explanation for why hardware that worked perfectly before the June macOS update suddenly became unreliable. Instead, the conversation keeps circling around procedures, limitations, warranties, and shipping labels while the actual problem remains unresolved.The responses often felt like they were assembled from the same script over and over again. I bought the 40TB drive and it works but it's a pain to get it to show up on your computer. I find it best to walk away for 10 minutes then come back and see if it pops up.Once it shows up it works great!

As a commercial photographer, I need vast amounts of storage. I've used LaCie mirrored RAIDs for fifteen years, and It has been a love-hate relationship from the beginning. I am finally done. Nothing has ever worked out of the box. Every drive, from the first to the last requires hours of firmware updates, software, troubleshooting, etc. If you call tech support, they blame Apple... Apple blames LaCie... and nothing gets resolved. I am trying to rid myself of the older, slower drives with low capacity in favor or larger, faster drives. I purchased this 40TB beast, which (technically) would give me 20TB of mirrored storage... if the drive actually worked. After a day of trying everything, including multiple computers, multiple USB-C cables, downloading the latest LaCie RAID Manager software and trying to update the drive's firmware... nothing, nada, zilch. The drive powers up, but is never recognized by the computers. If you are looking for a $1,600 blinking blue nightlight, this is the drive for you! If, however, you want a simple solution for large, safe storage, but anything else. LaCie is to drives what McDonalds is to hamburgers... they are the most well known to consumers and they make a lot of them!.. but they suck!

専用ソフトを使うとミラーリング設定がとても簡単です。特にDTM用途なんかでMacでライブラリとワーク用にパーテーション切って尚且つ安全のためにミラーリング、しかも大容量が必要となるとこれ一択ですね。相変わらずの転送速度の安定感のおかげでDAWとは相性が良いです。ただ流石に持ち運べるサイズと重さではないのでノートPCユーザーにはお勧めしません。

Tengo 8 discos duros de Lacie y este concretamente no ha parado de dar problema. En la primera ocasión perdí toda la información, sobre todo fotografía de mi trabajo, y ahora se ha vuelto a ir. Tiene bastantes fallos.
