Sauder Costa Credenza, Chalked Chestnut finish

Never have submitted a review on anything. However, having had many "need to assemble" products over the years I found this product by far to be the easiest ever. Since I have assembled a lot of furniture items in the past, I know how important it is to pay attention to details and diagrams as one misstep could mean disaster later. All of the pieces were clearly marked, labeled and pre-drilled correctly. This is important as a lot of the stuff that is done in China can be a bit off so in final assembly things just do not always line up correctly. The directions and how-to-videos are very helpful. I assembled most of it including the matching desk by myself. The Credenza took me about 3hrs and the matching desk about 5hrs. I only needed help when it came time for some heavy lifting. These are very sturdy and well made. The patterns on the veneers have improved so much over the years that the wood grain looks real. Absolutely love the color and design. Looks true to pictures but even better in real life. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Hints for flawless assembly:-open box and organize the pieces.-pre-read directions-using a power screwdriver speeds things up-since there are a lot of screws helps to have a little plastic container for the ones you are using to put it so they do not get lost- stored my desktop in one of the cabinets and left off putting that back piece for better airflow

I love the look of this credenza in my office. Light, casual and substantial. As others have said, the assembly instructions are very easy to follow and all the pieces fit perfectly. I was disappointed to discover that the back is not finished (like the desk) and so it will always have to be placed against a wall. I was able to fit my Epson workforce printer in the middle on the shelf at its lowest setting. However, to lift the lid, I have to be very careful when I pull the shelf forward as I have some concern it might be too much weight on the extended shelf.When delivered, the box is very heavy, so we pulled individual pieces upstairs a few at a time. I assembled it all myself, but did need help to turn it upright. It is a very heavy piece of furniture. I also purchased the file cabinet and likely will purchase the desk as well, to make a suite of it.

I bought this piece for a Florida house and the finish works very well. It does take some time to put the piece together but once done it is very sturdy. However, it is still made out of particle board so you need to be careful about water or staining. When I received the shipment I did have broken parts but if you send an email to the company they will send you replacement parts free of charge. The downside is that it takes two days for them to respond to your email so it takes a little over a week to receive the new parts. I suggest you lay everything out and do an inspection all the pieces and hardware. Just make sure you take you time putting it together...If you make a mistake putting the pieces together where you glue them it is extremely difficult to take apart without damage.

Love the Costa collection with Chalked Chestnut finish. The coastal look and modern design for our home office is refreshing. We started with the Costa Desk and Costa Lateral File Cabinet so the Credenza just about completes our front room. The only thing we have left to add will be the 5-Shelf Bookcase & Hutch with the small glass cabinet doors that sits on top of the Credenza.However, it’s important to take note - looking back I’m so glad I set up pro assembly for the Desk because the Credenza was a challenge. We had to back track a bit because steps were already in place and taking it apart to modify even made my husband almost lose his sanity - and he’s a very handy guy but doesn’t have patience with furniture assembly lol and once you’ve already completed most of the process, having to go back to correct a slight mistake will surely test your patience.. unless you’re retired and have a lot of time on your hands. We’re both business owners so the last thing we want to do is spend hours on assembly while losing our cool over home office furniture ;)So I’m 100% setting up pro assembly for the Hutch. In my opinion, pro assembly is worth it for the more detailed pieces. Overall, we’re very happy with our new set up and are looking forward to the finishing touches :)

Love my new credenza. I also bought the matching desk and lateral filing cabinet. I’m thoroughly impressed with Saunders as a brand. The instruction manual is very user friendly. I didn’t use the center pull out drawer so I could put my large printer in and still open the top to make copies. It’s perfect for my space and the rustic vibe I was trying to accomplish.

Sturdy, quality piece. My TV looks great on it! Took a little bit to put together, but man, this thing is a lot stronger than I expected. Arrived in good packaging, in prompt fashion.

Love the credenza! Took forever to assemble but is very pretty and practical! I am using this as my “office” and it stores everything I need but out of sight.

I have this along with the matching desk. Both are very sturdy and have a great finish. Not the easiest to assemble, but not terribly difficult either. Definitely worth the money.
