I can attest that these are quality padded boken
I have been studying martial arts, fencing, Bushido and Wing Chun sword styles for nearly 35 years and I can attest that these are quality padded bokken and the best practice sword for beginners or intermediates and masters to spar with beginners and they are lots of fun da'boot.I like these better than the ones with the wooden handle because the wooden handled ones have the handle and the sword core seperately. In these practice bokken the core and the handle are one single piece. If you actually break these you need to calm down and/or give up sword fighting. They are very tough and pretty firm. They only bend a little tiny bit which is good if you study fencing. They are somewhat heavy but practice swords should be heavier that their live equivalent to build strength. I actually perform most of my katas with a heavy practice weapon to build wrist muscles. They can also hurt when you get hit and can leave bruises but they cannot do anything more than cause a bruise or a sore nose. Also you might want to wear gloves while handling these, or any kind of bokken or sword. An experienced swordsman always wears gloves.

Durable and Fun for 10y olds
My 10 yo twin boys kept breaking their costume swords when play fighting so I looked up other options and found these. They're perfect. They have spent hours outside play fighting and haven't had any issues with these. Thanks so much!!

Literary best durable ACTUALLY DURABLE FOR KIDS sworda
I have bought tons of swords for my kids over the years, and they all fall apart when they try to play rough with them-which is the point. These are the first swords that have withstood the test of time and play of many kids changing hands and sparring like they're knights or Jedi. They play outside and inside for hours going at it with all their might, most of them are between 65 and 100 pound kids that have formally trained in martial arts or are strong from lots of time in trees or other sports (basketball, gymnastics, baseball) and still even with their full force behind swinging it has not torn or broken at all. Most swords are in shreds or dented or broken in some way within a few days with these kids. Not these swords. My 8 to 12 year old kids and their friends have been able to run and play everyday for hours. I will never touch nerf or any other brand again. These are the best. I do have a rule they follow to help preserve the foam-no hitting rough surfaces like trees or bumpy sheet rock or poles. But smooth surfaces are fine and it has helped preserve them.

Worth the price
Tons of fun with my daughter!Honestly gonna bust these out on guys night for some drunken fun lol. These things are serious but also have great padding. The tip is padded about 2-3 inches for poking also.

Good for the price
I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy these feel when using them, great for swordplay between siblings, and can give and take a solid hit against each other. I am somewhat disappointed that during the first few minutes of using them, we noticed the foam part on the sword already seems to be sliding away from the handle on one of the two swords, not far enough to make it unusable yet, thankfully, but far enough that it's definitely noticeable.

Sturdy
I looked through reviews searching for a product that would hold up after my 7 &6 year old boys play fought with these and they are holding up well!! I do think if they were hitting them against something hard, like concrete, they would snap.. but as long as they are using them respectfully, they will hold up a long time! Definitely worth it!

These are awesome
My 5 year old and I have hard core battles with these. They still hurt a bit if you wack each other hard. But you can fight like you mean it! My son swings full force and we have some awesome battles.

Great safe dueling fun for kids and parents
These things are great. My kids had enjoyed “sword fighting” with sticks, but they would always wind up hitting one another or breaking the sticks. We bought a set of these foam swords and they’re even better than I’d hoped. It takes a really hard swing for these to actually cause pain, and we have used them without fear of breaking. They are just a bit long for a five-year-old, but an eight-year-old has no problem handling one with a good two-hand grip. The adults enjoy a duel, too, and they’ve held up nicely.Definitely pleased with quality and value and would buy again.
