This is a conversation piece. The only regret is having in my office makes people stop, look and want to discuss. It is an eye catcher and all are intrigued by how it suspends in air. Just be sure to use the white foam piece when trying to hang the globe in air. That foam piece gives you the right amount of separation for the globe to hang. It will not spin on its own so you use that white foam to very gently spin the globe. It's made of plastic and seems easily breakable. I was surprised by that; not heavy at all so be careful not to knock it over. The globe is extremely light as well. When you unplug it, the globe will just fall. Put your hand under the globe before you unplug it. You don't want the globe to crack and it does take a pretty heavy tumble if you don't catch it.

The media could not be loaded. As you can see from the video it works great, not difficult to get the globe centered. My only complaint would be the retina destruction caused by the LED lights! I basically pushed them in, they are glued and will make a pop sound no worries, then put the round pieces of aluminum foil with a tiny touch of glue over the holes. I made those with a standard hole punch, picked out the best ones and done in 15 minutes. You don't need to take anything apart and this way the inner Ring glows more looking much better.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this product as a gift for my son's 2nd grade teacher. Just received it today and wanted to make sure that it worked and was worth the money I spent. It works and it's pretty cool! I didn't want to give the same old teacher gift like a mug or something with an apple on it. I think this will work out very nicely. Might be a future teacher's gift too....lol.

I did not realize that the second you turn the light off the globe will no longer stay in place and fall from the lamp and it does not state that in the listing. It isn't exactly easy to get the globe to sit perfectly where it belongs so the fact that you have to hold onto the globe every time you turn the light off is just ridiculously stupid and then you have to have somewhere to place the globe where it won't roll off of wherever you place it while the lamp is off. Wish there were two power sources so that the magnet stays on while the light is shut off. If I had known this I would not have purchased this lamp because it doesn't get used. Wish I would have returned for a refund but did not know about this issue quick enough.

I like this item overall it looks nice and is a nice gift idea. The only downfall is you have to leave it plugged in with lights on all the time in order for the globe to continue floating. There is no switch to just turn the lighting off while leaving it plugged in so the globe will still levitate while having the option to turn the lighting off...So if you want to turn the light off you have to unplug the whole thing and the globe falls out amd you have to reset/reposition the globe to levitate each time you plug it back in...
