Good insurance to know what's wrong before going to the garage
Messes with my stock ecm in my 2018 ford focus but does the job I bought it for in clearing codes after I make repairs

Difficult to pair to iphone and connection is very unstable
I bought this as a replacement for a Wi-Fi-based ELM-327. I use the iOS app OBD Fusion for monitoring stats while driving - things like transmission temp and other info not readily available via other means. The Wi-Fi version was inconvenient as it made it so I didn't have cell data for google maps. Thought this Bluetooth would be better now that iOS allows Bluetooth for things other than audio.I plugged this in and briefly saw the the device. I tried connecting and provided the pin 0000, but then i got a message to make sure my device was on and in range. I see from the instructions that the pin could either be 1234 or 0000 so I thought I would try that. I spent the next 15 minutes trying to get the adapter to show, but no amount of plugging/unplugging and restarting my phone would show the device again. I unplugged the adapter for a bit and tried again. I did finally see it appear, but still battled the error message. I don't know what I finally did that allowed it to work, but it did seem to connect and I was able to use that connection within ODB Fusion. Unfortunately, the data update rate is very slow, and worse than that, I frequently get lost connection messages. I can reconnect, but the longest it seems to remain connected is less than 5 minutes.l'm not sure if I got a bad unit, or if this is just a terrible design. Either way, I'd steer clear of it.

Works after a Google search for How-To
Works on 2013 Ford F150 5.0 V-8, iPhone 11 ios 15.7 using "Car Scanner" app and app set to Bluetooth LE 4.0, Needed it to reset the annoying rapid/hyper flashing turn signal issue, caused when the load resistor went out and had to be replaced. Reset the error and all is well!

Great gadget
Work's well for seeing why your check engine light is on, and clears that pesky light also!

Works in Chevy, not in Ford
Bought it for my Crown Vic. Does not load second stage. Works fine in my Camaro.

Didn’t connect
I got it in and was super excited about it. I plugged it in and when I tried to connect it to the app it shows 2 lines of connectivity. It connected to the top one but when it goes through the process of the 2nd line it says it can’t connect and asks if I’d like information on why I can’t connect so I can try again. I click that I wanted more information and it just goes back to the beginning. Like that’s not helpful. I looked for a way to contact support. It gave me an email. No one has responded. I’ve tried several times trying some well know troubleshooting stuff like unplugging and restarting they phone and the app and still nothing. This was a waste of money.

Doesn't work, save some time don't buy this one
The first one I got kept disconnecting from my phone so I requested a replacement, the second wouldn't connect to my phone at all. Requested a refund and got a notification from Amazon stating the refund could take up to 37 days.

Causes hundreds of dollars in repairs DO NOT BUY
Plugging this into my car caused multiple systems to start having errors. Additionally one of the things impacted was the VSS. This adapter fried my vehicle speed sensor. It would have been possibly coincidence if it was just the sensor, but after plugging in the scanner it light up multiple systems. Unplugged it and most the system went back to normal.

Funciona
