That being said, I take much better care of this than I did my prior 10 dollar bed Bath and beyond “plastic”/polyester, fiber drying mat that was likely filled with mold. I’m highly attentive to keeping food particles and dirt off of the mat to avoid it molding, and at least 50% of the nights I set it upright to fully dry after putting away the dishes. I really like that it is foldable and I can reduce the clutter to my countertop by folding it and putting it “ away “ when I have it finished putting away the dry dishes. That being said, it dries well and quickly. I have not had issue with any spots or staining after two months. I intentionally bought the darker color because of this. I did not want to have to deal with small stains that would disrupt to my opinion of the appearance of the mat. I like how it looks. I have not yet attempted to remove the silicone wrap for deeper cleaning purposes, but it does look somewhat difficult to do and I worry about breaking the silicone.
