My great-grandson 6yrs old wants to be a paleontologist and this was perfect for him to play with and have fun. It kept him occupied for hours.

By age 5, my grandson could identify many dinosaurs I’d never heard of-and that’s saying a lot because I study to try and keep up! I sent this for his 6th birthday. His dad had a time holding him back to make it last!! Each day they carefully uncovered one item, using delicate ‘professional’ skills, until finally Gramma received a photo of the proud jr. paleontologist holding his T-Rex skeleton! Highly recommend this great STEM gift to anyone interested in dinos and treasure hunts, especially if there are avid parents or older siblings willing to make it a teaching experience.

I liked how it held the child’s interest, he didn’t get bored with it. He stayed excited about the outcome.

I got this for my niece for Christmas, and she LOVES it. She (7) gets so excited when she chips a piece off and you can almost see something there. I chose this one because there are so many things for her to dig out. She's been doing it regularly and she still hasn't finished the whole kit. I think it was very much worth the money.If I could change a couple things...I would get a different magnifying glass, because you can't really see anything with this one.Also, I wish there were little kids sized safety goggles in the kit. We didn't have a problem with pieces flying up into her face, but you never know.Last thing to know is that this is MESSY! Be prepared. We just used the top of the box to dig in.All in all, very impressed!
