Inspirational
I'm one year off retirement. Feel I have survived through moving to the private sector and sheer force of personality and subject knowledge. Feel disrespected and impotent, overworked and frazzled just about every day. And now I've read this. I feel the burden of guilt lifted and I just wish I could teach at Michaela's. Katherine needs to roll out this nationwide. It could just save generations of young British people. Inspirational!

Very thought provoking and insightful read
The book outlines how The Michaela School, Brent, London has gone about setting itself up, it's ethos, culture, values and strategy.A really good book to make you think about what is possible, if you have a team of teachers working together with the same vision. Fantastic read.

Excellent
I think this is a must-read for all teachers - debunks many of the simplistic and wrong assumptions about boys and provides a way forward - would also recommend david didau and willingham

A must read!
Every teacher should read this book. Many of us know what works in schools but for reasons unknown, few actually implement these tried and tested methods. This book calls upon us to do so, not for the purpose of league tables or Ofsted, but to give our kids a fighting chance.
