So funny!
I bought this book for my daughter as she had this author come to her school and I wanted her to have a good for him to sign - I bought the first book as well. I am so glad I invested in this book. It is very well written and captivated my daughters attention from the start. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a child going into middle school!

After a visit from author Jeff Anderson, Zack is making an impact on our school ! Everyday I see students walking in the hallways with this book in their hand or tucked under an arm. I walk into classrooms where students sit captivated as they listen to their teacher read Jeff's first book aloud. Yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing the smiles when I delivered his new Zack book to classrooms for their libraries. But my favorite thing of all was being stopped in the parking lot one afternoon by two 5th grade boys on bicycles who'd clearly been hard at play before they came my way. They'd stopped playing to come ask if they could still get a copy of Jeff Anderson's Zack books!

This book perfectly captures the middle school experience.
Students in the middle grades straddle the divide between the safety of elementary school and the impending hormonal terror of high school. As such, finding books that middle schoolers will enjoy can be notoriously difficult. Although the Young Adult literature renaissance has created an explosion of quality books, many of these novels contain references to sex and drugs that can turn off some middle schoolers. Enter Jeff Anderson and the Zack Delacruz series. This book perfectly captures the middle school experience. Zack, a pitch-perfect middle schooler, struggles to navigate the mercurial tides of popularity and fitting in. Zack's friends, a diverse and lovable cast of characters, help fill out a book that is as entertaining as it is fast paced. Highly recommended.

I loved Me and My Big Mouth
I loved Me and My Big Mouth, but Just My Luck was even better! Janie had me laughing out loud throughout the entire book as she dragged Zack along. Just like in the first book, I couldn't wait to see how Zack was going to work his way out of his problems that just kept growing. Every middle schooler can probably relate to what we might do to get the attention of that crush. As a child, I had lost my interest in reading by the time I reached junior high. If there were books like this available, I would have regained my interest! Thank you, Jeff, for bringing to life fun and laughter. Can't wait for the next one!

As a long-time middle school teacher, I am thrilled to get this hilarious book into the hands of my students. As a former awkward adolescent, I can relate to Zack and his mishaps. So much "school" reading is overly serious that students appreciate the opportunity to laugh out loud at a book, and this one will do it.
