A Lot Nicer Than I Expected
I bought these for a spring themed sensory bin for my toddler son. I wanted a variety of insects so he could learn to identify them. I actually got more than what was pictured and they came in a plastic tube. I don't know if the selection is always the same, but we got 2 different butterflies, 2 different spiders, 5 different beetles (including a ladybug), a praying mantis, a bee, a wasp, a fly, a cricket, a grasshopper, an ant, a dragonfly, and a scorpion. 18 insects (& arachnids) in all. They are a good size (dragonfly 3", ladybug 1 1/4") for studying and colored well. I bought the cheapest insects on Amazon and I am very happy that I chose them. I plan on doing a lot of different themed sensory bins so I don't want to spend a lot on all the items in the bin. These should not be purchased for children who still put things in their mouth as they are a choke hazard.

High quality plastic bugs
My oldest son has two kids under 6 (right; my grandchildren) and these bugs are the probably worth the fight between siblings. They are not your ordinary chain-store bugs, but well-colored and carefully-cast replicas. Heirloom bugs, if you will. Even if you don't have children, or grandchildren, get them, and leave them to your favorite kid in your will.

Great for building a home lesson around bugs
Used this for a home lesson on insects when my son went from fear to fascination. Each night, if he cooperated through his bedtime routine, he'd get a new bug and he'd flip through a bug book that we purchased along with it to identify his new bug. There were enough bugs to last us a while. They were realistic looking, although with a few I couldn't tell what they were supposed to be aside from being able to put them in a general category like beetles. My son's only complaint is that he wanted versions of the bugs we see commonly in spring like mosquitoes, fruit flies, and Mayflies, and some of the pesty bugs we see in our yard and flower beds.

Not as good as similar Safari Ltd Insects Toob
I purchased this set as well as the Safari Ltd Insects Toob at the same time. At first glance they are very similar in packaging and insect types but upon examining the toys, the Safari set is far superior in that they are nicer and more realistic looking. This Insect Lore set is more flimsy and the legs are bent in awkward ways that are hard to bend into proper, stand-able shape. It's so inexpensive that I won't bother returning it and may just add a few of the better bugs to the Safari set. On an "educational" note, spiders and scorpions are not insects but you can decide what to call the set to the kids.

My granddaughter loves these!
My almost four year old granddaughter is fascinated by bugs right now, and these fit the bill nicely. Along with a book about bugs, she can name them all. Fun toy! Great value!

Yes
My daughter absolutely loved these little bugs. Some of them don't match the exact color of the actual bug. But for my 3yr old they were perfect.

Cute bugs!
I purchased these toys to get in our bug unit for my at home pre school program. We had a lot of fun putting them in groups by bugs that fly, etc. We also put them in paint and painted their foot prints. Then they joined us in the tub to get all cleaned up! My son LOVED these guys and put them under a magnifying glass like real insects. Great way for children to explore insects without damaging any.

Go to B&M
Save your money and go pick some up from B&M for £2.00 as that’s all they are worth, I paid £7.98 thinking they must be fantastic quality for that price, but no, they are the biggest waste of money I’ve ever been conned into paying, the insects are cheap, the container is the type of plastic that if it breaks is very sharp and can cut, certainly not suitable for a child to use to store them in as described, to say I’m dissatisfied is an understatement.....I certainly won’t be giving these as a stocking filler as planned, I’d be to embarrassed and wouldn’t insult anyone that way, the charity shop will benefit though when they re open so all is not lost......

Not very life like
I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old grandson as he was interested in the spiders in our garden. I read a review saying these were rubber rather than the usual plastic ones which made them more life like. What a disappointment. The material is plastic, they are very dull colours and are not the same scale for all the insects. Yes there are a lot of them but the ladybug is more of a deep pink colour and the bumblebee is a very pale yellow. The ant is bigger than the spider and the butterflies are really dull colours. My grandson hardly looks at them and I have had to find a container for them as the tube they came in is very fiddly to get all the bugs back in. A waste of money

Hide them in mums bed
My 3 year old is obsessed with insects and bugs from the garden so he got these for his birthday and he adores them, best present he had. He keeps all his bugs in a box and won't stop playing with them, will be getting a similar set for Christmas. We placed these in a trail from his room and organised a bug hunt which kept him amused. Good value and well made with a good variety of insects.

Perfect bugs for play
Brought for 3 year old son who loves bugs. Came on time and was happy with the amount we got in the tub. They are not big but yet not to small and do perfect for a child of the age of 3. Would not really let a child younger have them as they would place in the mouth and could choke or break small parts. Great little bugs for play and so on.
