Decent price for the times we live in

I chose this one because Olympia made a great advanced calculator that I remember owning 15-16 years ago when I was in high school pre-calculus class.This stud finder is pretty basic though. The instructions could have been written better. I watched a few youtube reviews on this device and learned a few things I missed from the instruction manual. This stud finder gets the job done with a little more time and effort, but I've had better. I keep forgetting about inflation, and I should have spent $10 more on a more reliable device.

I followed the instructions to find the center of the stud but it would go from detecting nothing to all of a sudden finding the center. When I think I found the center it actually found the edge. At one point it indicated a stud find with center when it wasn't even on the wall. Frustrating to use!!

It did everything it advertised it would. I am very satisfied with it.

Mode switch won’t work. 1/2” scan only. I’d give no stars if I could!! Just got the replacement. Battery was stone dead. I had a new 9v bat. … IT WORKS!!! I’m finding studs in no apparent system. House built 1834.

Overall it was a disappointing purchase. Item arrived and after I put the battery in it wouldn’t turn on. After checking found that the battery was dead (only measured 3.67 volts so not enough to power the meter). I put a new battery in, read the instructions and off I went. Tried it on a drywall where I knew there was a stud and only found it accurately about 80% of the time. It did find the electric lines though. Honestly it’s slightly better than the knocking on the drywall. Actually I use the knocking method and then the stud finder hoping it will give me the center of the stud. Considering it’s only for home use to hang pictures and shelves once in awhile was still hardly worth the $19.99 I paid for it on sale.
