This book follows other Dorling Kindersley publications in it's comprehensiveness, and the high quality of it's presentation. Well laid out, with good illustrations and diagrams, it's a real pleasure to read and follow the lessons inside.These are presented in ten main sections with up to ten lessons or exercises in each. There are milestone pieces to learn and play, incorporating learning from each section along with associated on-line tutorials.Learning is linked to real world tracks and the playing styles of individual guitarists in the full range of genres. Nor does it lack in its encouragement of learners to progress, with sections on playing your first gigs, forming a group, recording and getting your music out there !It is a very complete guide, but clearly presented in bite size chunks which are quite easy to follow.Excellent. Recommended.

Pages are of very good quality...very well illustrated with diagrams and clear pictures...Good book for learning basic guitar techniques but it doesn't have advanced guitar learning methods but basic to intermediate level its good start to go

I bought this book to learn guitar at the age of 50. I researched a number of books online and visited some book stores before i purchased this one. And it is far the best of them all. Explains so many details of how music and guitars work. I highly recommend this book.
