You’ll Learn a Lot Just by Volume Alone!
Seeing as the way one gets good at Math (including Calculus) is a LOT of practice, this book is perfect!I should say that one would probably benefit from pairing this purchase with a few other Calculus Books just for good measure. The other books could focus more on the theory and this would focus on practice.

You Will Pass With High Scores If You Go Through This Book!
The book was a great review and actually helped to explain lower level math like I have never known before.I highly recommend it for both high school and college students. I aced my calculus course in college, but could have struggled a lot less if I had gone through this book during the course because the professors never explain in this type of detail. The book actually assumes you know nothing for every problem and walks you through every single step, even if it just basic addition. That was the part that helped the most because in nearly every math class I have ever taken, people fail not because they do not grasp the concepts, but because the professors didn't care to explain how and why they achieved the basic results in each step.My professors would simplify steps and solutions without any explanation (the course textbooks as well), but this dummies book takes out the guessing work for all of that and then some. For example, my calc 1 professor wrote L'Hopital's Rule on the board, talked about it, showed an example with letters, and then just threw it on the exam built into another problem. Most concepts in math classes are taught like this and then nearly the entire class fails because you are left to learn it during the exam, which is impossible. This book will prevent that from happening and will literally get you passing with excellent scores in no time, I'm not kidding.

Repetition works!
“Practice and more practice” has gone out of favor in public schools these days, to the detriment of students who don't do well just discussing math concepts generally. This workbook is a perfect for kids who learn by “doing” not by “listening.” There are lots of different problems for each topic, and if you bang through all of them and carefully review the explanations and solutions, you will have gotten exposure to just about anything the teacher can throw out on a test.Book layout has all the questions in the front and all the answers in the back. Just grab a bookmark and stick it where the answers for your topic begin, simple to flip back and forth that way.

Perfect for practice
Patrick JMT does a great job as usual. These are high quality questions from Calc 1 and 2, but not much in the way of Calc 3. The really nice thing is the included online problems on the Dummies website. I think many people would be better off simply buying the access to these same problems online for only $10.However, if you need a hard copy of some problems, this is probably as good as it gets.

Tons of problems with detailed solutions
Patrick Jones [JMT] has a great talent in explaining mathematics in a demystifying manner while addressing a topic witha lot of detail. I love the way this book is organised; it is super easy to the find the answers. If you need to pass Calculus, this book will really help you.

Lots of content, but answers are insufficient.
The book has a lot of content which is great. However, the answers just aren't clear, especially for beginners. The answer portion shows you the answer as well as what steps the author took, but it doesn't actually walk you through how to do the problem. What I mean by this is that the book doesn't tell you what the author does or why he did it when solving a problem. The book arrives at conclusions and forces you to figure out how to get the answers yourself. It's like several bad Math professors today; they solve problems in front of the class but don't explain how to do it!Save yourself the $20 and just utilize other online Math sources like Khan Academy, etc. With that being said, I do believe that the author, PatrickJMT, is a great professor and his YouTube videos have helped me a lot. I just do not like the book.

This is the Best Dummies book available!
I love Patrick Jones youtube videos. He has a way of explaining concepts clearly and he uses multiple examples for the more difficult concepts. His book is soooo much better than the other books, that I have purchased. This book literally saved the day for a Calc midterm. I just wish that he had the same kind of book for Calc 2 & 3. This one ends about 3 weeks into Calc 2.

The book I do not want
I have no use for this book since it is just exercises in something I do not and do not want to understand. Cannot understand how I got it and request my money back urgently. As a 77 year old pensioner I can I'll afford to spend on things I do not want nor understand

Better than a tutor
My child is currently in IB math standard level and this book has helped so much to grasp the basics and build upon a solid foundation. Don't be fooled by the title of your child is a good self - learner I highly recommend this and others in the series.

Extremely helpful resource
for 1001 questions the answers are really detailed. sometimes i feel it could be elaborated a bit more on, but it is 1001 questions and it was much much better than i thought it would be
