It gives sharp images and good video quality, even when there’s not much light. The camera is clearly HD and gives a fantastic view of what’s going on in my garden. There are no sound capabilities so this will have to come from an independent microphone. If you are streaming or vlogging you might prefer this. I ordered it for watching wildlife as we have a family of Badgers visiting the garden however it’s ideal for vlogging or live streaming and there are certainly many areas of application for this camera as it’s slim profile and compact size are ideal for raspberry pi embedded projects. My husband set it up and it works well with the free software from Microsoft but it’s widely compatible. It’s a plug and play product and as it arrives as a bare module my husband will print a housing for it. I didn’t experience any dropouts or latency during use. The frame rate is dependant on lighting conditions, the more light that is available the higher the selected frame rate. Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, hue, sharpness etc are all adjustable and the camera cable is a nice and long 1M which gives you some freedom when positioning it. In my opinion this is a good camera with a real lens that can be customised to suit. It takes a little bit of time to adjust the parameters but if you’re patient it’s worthwhile and is a solid choice. It’s perfect for hobbyists, vloggers and live streamers. It’s fairly priced and good quality. I hope you find my review helpful. Review: When I received this I was somewhat taken aback. From the manufacturer's images, I assumed that the camera was much larger. Look at the image showing it being used in a business meeting. The actual camera is smaller than a box of matches. I also hadn't realised how flimsy the unit is. The camera may be plug and play but there's no way that the camera can be positioned and remain stable whilst in use. The camera needs to be built into a casing. There's no documentation supplied but recording a video wasn't difficult. However what I could not understand is why after a while the video image on the PC screen freezes even though the video continued to record successfully. Obviously not having a microphone means that you need a separate input device. My conclusion is that whatever I can produce using this web cam, I can do as well, more easily and fully, using my mobile phone. I hope you found this review useful. If you have a question, I always try to respond when desertcart forwards them to me.
