Journey WestLoafers mens Loafer

I purchased two of them to take on a resort trip. I needed a pair of white sneakers for a night out at the restaurant. Now, I have a broad foot, so I felt these wouldn't be comfy for me. Having trouble finding a suitable fit. But wow, was I mistaken! These were some of the most comfy shoes I've ever worn right out of the box. The length was also ideal, with plenty of toe room without being overbearing. Highly recommended!! Other colors will be purchased.

All of my shoes for work that I use are size 11. When I got this pair and tried them on, they were more like a 12! Sent them right back

When it comes to dress shoes and loafers, I have written about my favorite companies before.And typically, those companies sell shoes that are a bit more on the expensive side. But I'm always open to reviewing dress shoes that are not expensive and are affordable for men who don't want to spend over a hundred dollars for a pair of dress shoes.A company that has been targeting the budget-conscious man and woman with its numerous dress shoes and sold on Amazon is the company, Journey West.Made in China, I decided to give Journey West a try.The first was the Journey West Mens Penny Loafers. These loafers are made in China and retail for $99.The shoes come in a yellow box that is reminiscent of the yellow boxes of a certain watch company and if the box was to make you hyped, I will say that if Journey West wants to make a good impression, ditch the yellow box and go for something black, dark gray or darker brown or even beige. The yellow box is no doubt a turnoff but we don't judge shoes by its box.I do like the fact that it came with its miniature plastic shoehorn, if the shoes are smug for some people.I am judging these loafers on look, stitching, fit and comfort and I wore these shoes for more than a week and put it through some tests.I went for a black penny loafer which features calfskin leather, rubber sole with stitch detailing on low stacked heel and fully cushioned memory foam insole.You will notice the sticker-like coverings on the sole, just remove those as best as you can, if you intend to keep them. Otherwise, if you are returning them, don't peel it off.OK, now my impressions of the shoe after wearing it for the week.Let me preface that I own many loafers of different colors, primarily from companies that sell in high end and also G.H. Bass Weejuns (the company which originated the loafer) which is probably one of the main competitors to Journey West in terms of price point.While I can't say if the shoes are handsewn, nor can I say if it's made of genuine leather, I do know one thing, these shoes are well-stitched and are darn comfortable. Size 11's fit me perfectly as they do my Alden's.I can say that size 11, would be similar to the sizing of the 11D's of my more expensive loafers. These fit me perfectly.So, for the price of $99, I have to say these penny loafers are pretty cool and are very comfortable. So from aesthetics, to comfort and fitting, as well as overall stitching, I'm quite impressed and also a bit surprised.You're definitely getting your money's worth on this one and have to say, these shoes beats similar priced shoes (from established brands) when it comes to fit and comfort.The Journey West Mens Penny Loafers are recommended!

When it comes to formal or business casual shoes i am a big fan. I would say i am sort of a shoe collector with a large amount of leather based shoes being the dominant choice. Nicer shoes are kind of like my vinyl record collection in that they are great to use as well as look as but it required patience and proper maintenance. The patience comes in the form of being disciplined enough to take the time to condition the leather as well as polish it along with making sure they are housed in shoe spacers.With this classy looking loafer style shoe from the Journey West brand i have found not only a wonderful shoe but a new brand that i am super fond of now. I urge any shoe lover to take the journey west with this quality shoe brand and therefore become the best dressed person in the room- or the best shoe in the room depending on your ability to choose good matching clothes.I love how i was able to choose my size without having to go up to 12.5 or 13. I was able to fit snuggly into a 12 which is what i want in a loafer. I am happy to say that after wearing these shoes for two work shifts totaling sixteen hours is did not experience an expanding around the sides which often happens with certain brands. The benefit of that not happening shows the durability because i have one foot that is larger than the other which then often will cause my right foot to begin to slip in the back due to stretching. This shoe expands within the shoe rather than permanently becoming stretched out to then retract back to normal. I feel this is partially due to the stitching as well as the way the bottom of the shoe is designed. The heel area is actually split into two parts. If you turn the shoe upside down you will see a divide in the middle of the shoe heel. This is indicative by the split in the middle with one side being brown and the other black. The bottom layer above the heel and attached, is broken down into three layers to then meet up with that just mention split heel. This split in the heel area i strongly feel contributes to not only the durability to prevent stretching but also gives you more flexibility in your step. I like the inner lining which does not make my feet sweat after sitting for long periods of time. Likewise when i have to move around a lot at work i noticed there was no sweating of my feet. The solid black color shines up very nicely to create that classy visual display that i love.In conclusion i am totally satisfied with this shoe and am easily giving this five stars.I recommend not only this shoe but the shoe/boot options the Journey West brand have available as well.
