Excellent for bulbs and also removing weeds along with the roots. Useful tool and good quality.

This was not cheap to buy, but is built to last. My previous bulb digger was cheap and broken. This one is heavy duty, has generous welds to maximize strength and appropriately-placed foot lever for tough soil conditions. I like that it includes a slider to help eject dirt plugs. Also, the steel is painted with what looks like a powder coat finish and it has not lost its paint even after a few years. I used this to plant 50 Tulip and 36 Daffodil bulbs, and then lesser tasks over the years. Without this digger, it would have taken many hours down on the ground to do the same with a hand shovel. Removed 1 star due to cost (although I believe it's worth it) and lack of depth. I wish it was about 2 inches deeper.

Heavy duty and very easy to use. I used it to take plugs from my creeping thyme to transplant elsewhere in the yard. First I dug the transplanting hole with the tool, then made the plug and dropped it in the hole, and then used the dirt from the hole to fill where I took the plug. I am 81 years old and found it very convenient that I didn't have to dig or bend over much. Highly recommend.

Mine broke after 25 or so plugs. Works great in soft ground. I needed this to take plugs of good grass to move to bare spots in my lawn. The ground is not super hard but certainly not garden soil soft. The foot tab that you use to press the plugger into the soil after about 25 or so plugs was bent down. I tried to bend it back up and it broke off. Maybe I should have heated the metal, but I don't have a way to do that. So be aware that if your soil is not soft, this is not the tool for you. The tool is not useful to me now.

This makes gardening easy to do. This is durable and made sturdy and well. This is a digger that takes the guesswork out of planting bulb roots like my tulips and Lily’s. The handle is long so there’s no back breaking bending. It’s lightweight and stores easily. Great choice and affordable. Works well.

I just planted my first bed of strawberries and I am hopeful they will take. I used this tool to prep the garden and it made my job much easier. The tool is designed to use your foot to leverage your weight to drill deeper and you turn the bottom to release the soil. I did notice that it more difficult to clear out when the soil was really wet, which is to be expected. The tool comes packaged with instructions and assembly was easy. It also came with cute garden gloves that came in handy. Wish me luck!

Not great quality and not sturdy. Flops when you step on it. The one-sided thing is not logical. Not a great design.
