Use the 3 in. x 6.5 in. scaling chisel with any SDS-Plus rotary hammer. The extra wide 3 in. blade removes more thinset per pass. The hardened steel alloy is designed specifically for high impact stresses. This scaling chisel is the perfect choice for clearing tile, thinset and other stubborn adhesives.

Does the job, perfectly.
Ripped right through, over 600 square feet of thinset. It didn't even blink. My trigger finger hurt more then anything-else. Big time-saver over the smaller 1-1/2" and 2" blades. Seemed perfectly matched for the power of the Milwaukee rotary hammer I was using.NOTE: There is a specific side to put face-down and, obviously, you have to hold it at the correct angle. Though, it has a wide angle of use, giving longer strokes before you need to move.

This big bit is a big help!
This bit was a tremendous help while renovating a 1956 bathroom that still had all the original pink tile (in less-than-fantastic condition) over a plaster-and-lath base! I used the bit with a Bauer rotary hammer to complete wall, counter, and floor tile removal. The counter tile was removed as a first step in breaking down and removing the built-vanity. On walls and floor, the bit did little damage to the sub-material, so after removing the tile I was able to plaster over the walls (now painted and bare of tile) and lay fresh tile on the floor. Definitely worth buying!

It works great, until it doesn't work at all.
Works very well at removing thin set. I'd give it 5 stars for that. It does help if you occasionally flip the bit, as some of the other reviewers noted. That said, I purchased two. On the second day of use, a bit snapped at the bottom of the SDS groove, leaving me with a broken bit, and a bit of the shaft stuck in the hammer drill housing, which I still haven't been able to get out. I figured maybe it was the employee using it, or a bad hammer drill, or something. So, on the third day of use of the second bit, it snapped in the same place, with a different employee and a different hammer drill. So, I'd give it 1 star for durability. Average it to 3 stars. BTW, I've never had any other bit snap in any of my hammer drills, with any of my employees. So, that was my experience.

Use the bit to remove about 500 square feet of tile and thinset. The bit showed no wear after the job was complete. Used in conjunction with a Chicago Electric 1-1/8 in. 10 Amp Heavy Duty SDS Variable Speed Rotary Hammer. Highly recommended.I created a "dust hood" from an old plastic storage bin by cutting an opening twice as wide a tile and a hole for a shop vac. This setup contained the flying tile chips and reduced the thinset dust to a minimum. The trick is getting the correct angle. Too shallow and you just chip the tile, too steep and you put a divot in the concrete.Don't use the maximum setting on the hammer drill, Just turn it up until you get good tile/thinset removal. Running it at 100% just beats you up.......

Very good product. Worked very well
Very good product. Worked very well. I used this bit for about 500 sq ft of thinset material. I would suggest taking a break and not using continuously. The bit got extremely hot on the shaft and did break after about 2 1/2 hours of continuous use. For the price and what I accomplished it was worth the investment.

This saved my engagement!
My fiance and I were remodeling our kitchen and we had lovely tile. We bought a rotary hammer. It was awesome. The chisel it came with was only an inch wide. We had about 40 sqft of tile to remove. No store in our area had a bit that fit our tool so we got this. It made everything so much easier. It turned "why are you going so slow" into "slow down, we gotta clean up this tile before you keep going."

Perfect for small jobs
This bit worked for its purpose. I removed a big patch of thinset on my porch. I finished the cleanup with a angle grinder and cup wheel. I used it with the Kobalt 24V Max roto hammer with the chesel selection. The bit did get dull, but that is to be expected. Thats why I own a disk grinder. To sharpen tools that get dull.Remeber that this is a SDS-Plus bit. So dont lean on it too much. Let the tool doo the work. If you are doing big jobs you should be using a SDS-Max tool. Not SDS-Plus.

I am giving this product 1 star because it fits in my Milwaukee hammer drill and the size would have worked well to remove thinset. However, due to its poor construction it broke off in my drill with just minutes into removing thinset. I had to return it and though Amazon paid for the return, I had to still pay to print the label at UPS and pat for the packaging... I'm really disappointed as now my drill is useless with the piece stuck inside which will cost me to replace.
