It is a nice, durable, bpa-free plastic. I love these little guys--I don't end up wasting a lot of nectar because their volume is just 4 oz. each!

Q: I love my new little feeders, but no hummers for 5 days and then completely taken over by ants. Any suggestions?

I love these feeders and my hummers seem to as well! First of all, be patient. Have you placed the feeders where you have seen hummers before? Five days really isn't so long. Second, empty and rinse the feeders with very hot tap water every 3 days ( or less in hot weather) . Rinse the little feeding holes well, and fill with fresh nectar. Make sure no nectar is on the outside of the feeder (that will attract ants and bees). Don't put the feeder in a tree. I had lots of ants until I moved the feeder to a tall "shepherds hook" hanger stuck in the ground. You also could put a tiny amount of Vaseline where the metal hanger meets the red plastic. The ants will get stuck in it and not enter the feeder. A small amount in that one spot won't harm the hummers. Good luck!

Q: is there the ability to mount the blossom on a stake like the highview?

This was my question exactly. I have two of the Highviews that I mount on top stakes made out of 1/2 copper pipe. They fit perfectly, I just lift them off to bring inside to clean. But due to a bully hummingbird, I need to add more feeders. Guess I'll just order these and cross my fingers that they'll fit the same way :-)
