Good buy
Was a little difficult to install it was tight around the barrel when the slide is fully seated. I had to pull back on the slide to protrude the barrel enough to rotate the bushing. But once install it functioned nicely. Infact I think the fact that it is tight is a good thing. My only complaint which is not really a big deal but WILSON is engraved on the face of it.

Novice: need to know facts
Writing this review for people who have not replaced a bushing before, since this was my first time and I learned a lot.Firstly, this bushing is purposefully too big to fit your gun... you need to sand it down with sandpaper in order to achieve a custom fit. This is simple to do by yourself, but time consuming. I spent a solid 2-3 hours sanding, testing, sanding, fitting, testing, sanding, etc., while watching TV. I could probably have cut that time down to 20-30 minutes, had I known what I was doing, and switched to a grittier sandpaper sooner.I had to sand down the outside of the bushing significantly in order to fit the bushing into the slide. I had to also sand down the inside of the bushing just a little to get the barrel to fit into the bushing.Secondly, from personal experience I recommend you start with 220 grit sand paper. If the 220 isn't removing enough material and you have a lot of way to go, drop the sandpaper down to 120 or 160 grit. Be careful with the medium grit paper: a little sanding goes a long way on this bushing. Once you have a nice fit, you can move back up to 220 grit paper to give it a better finish. (I spent 2 hours with 220 grit before moving to 120 grit, big mistake. The 120 grit took material off about 10x as fast as the 220.) I used wood sandpaper, not metal sandpaper, and sanded dry. Maybe this is the wrong way to do things (?) but it worked fine for me and I'm very happy with the results.Thirdly, since I didn't know how to "mill" machine parts, and I'm not a professional gunsmith, I called Wilson's customer support line to make sure I'm doing this right. They were the BEST. Super helpful, friendly, and full of information. If the bushing itself hadn't gotten five stars (it did), certainly the call into their HQ would have bumped them up.In the words of the customer service rep, "this piece is vital to the accuracy of your gun, as it holds the barrel in place, so use fine sand paper or emery cloth, and as soon as it starts to fit into your gun, stop. Assemble your gun, check the action. If the action is good, go to the range and see how it fires. If its still stiff after that, you can sand it some more. Also, use plenty of lube." He also explained that each 1911 manufacturer (mine is colt) has different tolerances for their parts; this is why Wilson oversizes and has you sand, this way, you can achieve a really tight fit.

Saw comment on Tisas 45
This bushing fits perfectly in my tisas 45, dropped right in. Nice quality and shots are greatly improved from the factory part

Poor fit
Would not recommend. Does not fit as advertised. Needs a lot of modification.

Didn't fit Kimber TLE/RL
I'm sure that this is a quality piece but it wouldn't fit on my Kimber tle/rl. It's finish is rough where it actually meets up with the slide, I'd think it would be better to be polished so it would slide in in better, but whatever. I took it to my local gunshop, they wanted $50 to custom fit it and then they told me about having tolerances too tight could make the gun jam. I'm new to 1911's and only got one because everyone in my PD carries them. If I knew how funky they were if have stuck with glock. Be aware that just because your 1911 is mil spec not all parts are immediately drop in.

Nice Quality, but needed to mill down to fit Para P14-45
To be clear, the product appears to be high quality. I installed on a Para P14-45 which can be fickle as far as 1911 fitment goes. I did need to fit the part down with my trusty Dremel. It took some time to machine the bushing down, and now I have a custom fit. Some people do not like that it has WILSON written across the front, but I do not mind. I highly doubt Amazon will start providing something for gun parts which is similar to fitment for auto parts.

Looks good!
This bushing will definitely require fitting, but with the right equipment it can be done in about 30 minutes.
