Better than all of the other options!
Life changing! I tried using a cup many years ago and no matter which one I bought, which size I used, it was too painful for me. I get toxic shock if I use a tampon. My period will stop and I’ll have to pull out a dry tampon. So I definitely can not use those. I have been using these Flex disposable discs now for probably 6 years. I love them! I tried to use a reusable disc (not flex though it’s too expensive for me) and it too was very uncomfortable. Not these though. I don’t even feel these! They are very comfortable. My cramps aren’t so bad anymore either. I do wear a pad or liner though. Depending on how heavy my period is, it will eventually leak. Not for several hours usually though. They do self empty when you sit on the toilet. Unfortunately though when it gets full, as soon as I sit down I find out it is full. Because it leaks out. So I find it necessary to always wear at least a liner. There’s no telling when it’s full. It does take many hours to fill up most of the time. Regardless of that I can not go without them. I’ll deal with a little leak once a day, versus leaking out all day long. So worth it!

Best purchases I ever made!
For those who just want a summery: this is the best period product that I have ever used. It takes a learning curve to get used to, but completely worth it. It is very comfortable, and I don't have to worry about it throughout the day. I did find the reuseable more comfortable than the disposable discs. I haven't had any significant leaking when using correctly, but I would recommend using a panty liner or period underwear for added protection until you get used to it. All in all, I wish that I had been brave enough to try the disc way sooner. For those who want a long, detailed, and TMI answer: I ordered a Flex period cup (not the disc) a couple years ago because I really wanted to have a reuseable product, and I was very tired of pads. I was always uncomfortable with tampons because (ironically for someone who was ordering a period cup) I just couldn't get past shoving cotton up my you-know-what. Plus, removing tampons always felt so nasty and they never lasted very long because of how ridiculously heavy my period is. I have always had to have the big awful maxi pads and I would still be changing them all day long. When I ordered the period cup, I discovered quickly that this was not going to work for me. I tried very very hard to get used to it, but that was not going to happen. Inserting it was extremely difficult. No matter how many times I tried, it never got easier. The few times that I was able to insert it correctly, the little pull tab (which mind you I was very grateful for) made me very uncomfortable no matter what position that I was in. Removing was always painful, despite the pull tab. I just couldn't keep trying. The disc was a different story. Originally when I ordered the Flex cup, it came with two disposable discs as a bonus. I had no idea what those were. After inspecting and reading the instructions, I said no way in hell was I going to even try those. I threw them in with my other toiletries and never even consider them until two years later. I am not even sure why I thought about them again. I think that I saw an ad about reuseable pads or something along those lines that made me want to try to find a reuseable product. I think that I looked into period underwear first before I remembered the discs (at that point Flex had come out with a reuseable disc). I practically dove into research about them. Where they sit, if they are safe, are the disposables better or the reusables? I read probably hundreds of reviews and suddenly became determined to try the disc. I still had one disposable disc that was in its sealed package, so I tried it on my next period. I knew INSTANTLY that it was a game changer. Inserting it was so easy and painless that I was actually excited that this might be it. I bought a pack of Flex disposables right away to try out for a full cycle before ordering a reuseable disc. Removing it was a little difficult the first time, because I didn't bear down correctly. However, I figured it out and the next time was a breeze. The thing that I didn't like about the disposable discs is that I can feel them when they are in. It was not uncomfortable or even bothersome, but I can definitely tell that they are there. The Flex reuseable disc was even better. I was a little nervous about the fact that the rim is a bit larger, but the notch makes it just as easy to insert. The rim is not as hard as the disposables, so I do not feel it at all when it's in correctly. I have been using it for five months now and I am never going back. Normally both discs stay in place just fine. I have had it slip out of place a couple times when I was laying down in a weird position and another time when I was running. It was at the beginning of my learning curve, so I probably didn't put it in very well. Neither time did it leak either. One of the best things is that you actually can leave it in for the full 12 hours. If you are on your heavy day and you are worried about it getting too full, you can "dump" it without removing when you go to the bathroom by bearing down (literally like you are trying to poop). Note that if you have a light period or you haven't been wearing it long, it probably won't dump much if anything. This did take me some time to get it right and even more time to get used to. I am not used to the blood spilling out all at once and it does gross me out. Not enough to stop using it, but enough that I'm still getting used to it. Every now and then I do have some spotting (probably because of dumping when I use the bathroom). I only had two major leaking incidents. One was with a disposable disc literally the first week of trying them out. I probably didn't put it in very well and I had been holding in a number 2 for a lot longer than anyone should have to wait to use the bathroom. The other time was with a reuseable disc. It was overnight in my heaviest time of the week, and I had probably spent 10 hours sleeping without getting up to dump and another hour in bed on my phone. Both times I had been wearing a pad, so it wasn't a disaster but they did happen. I know that cleaning the reuseable disc is a turnoff for a lot of people. The process of removing the disc can be messy for both the reuseable and disposable discs ESPECIALLY when you are learning. It is easier for me to insert the disc correctly while standing up with a leg up on the tub, but I am always sitting on the toilet to remove it. I know that some prefer to remove their discs while in the shower, however I want all the contents to go directly into the toilet. It's not any less comfortable for me and it contains any mess. Even with practice though, I do get some blood on my fingers. It can be minimal, but I don't think that it can be completely avoidable. It doesn't really bother me but that might not fly with some. The flex wash does a great job cleaning my disc. Always rinse out the blood with cold water to prevent staining your disc and then clean it in hot water. I use two pumps each time and it is more than enough to get it clean. I would say that the one bottle lasted me 3.5 cycles. My period is always 7+ days, so even with the 12-hour wear, that can be a lot of washes. Like others have said, original Flex wash does have like a floral smell to it. It does seem pretty strong to me, but it's not a bad smell. I had every intention of buying the same thing when I ran out, but I accidentally ordered the Neroli & Rosemary scent instead. It performs the same, however it has a little more of a spice smell and it is way less potent. Because of that, I'll probably buy it again, but I don't have any complaints about the original wash. The wash does get it very well cleaned, but it is good hygiene to sterilize it every now and then. Lots of women get steamers meant for sterilizing cups/discs, so don't stress about having to boil it on the stove. I bought a little machine here on amazon that can both steam and boil. It works perfectly for my liking, and I don't have to leave my bathroom. I tend to boil my disc at the end of my cycle and before I use it again. When I get in the shower at night, I usually just steam it. If you wanted to just use the Flex wash your whole cycle and sterilize it when you are done for the month, I'm sure it will probably be just fine. I am just paranoid. All in all, I would highly recommend this product to any woman out there. You don't have to be afraid of it, even if you've never used a tampon or you are a virgin. Every new thing is a learning curve and something like this is almost always super scary. There is no shame in that and there is no shame in sticking with what you are comfortable with either. I didn't even consider this product until two years later and there is nothing wrong with that. As for me, I wish that I had been brave enough to start using this two years ago. It is such a game changer and I feel so much freer on my period than I ever have before.

make the switch!!
i never leave reviews, but this is only my first day using my disc and i do not have enough good things to say about it. i purchased this because two of my friends brought to my attention that tampons have a lot of toxins in them, and there have been recent studies that suggest that they can cause infertility. they both use the diva cup, but i did not imagine that being something that would work for me. i think i saw an ad for this on tiktok, and the comment section convinced me that it was worth a try. first of all, i was very intimidated by installation. i thought there was no way i would be able to easily get it in place. i stand corrected. i attempted for the first time this morning while i was rushing to get to work, and it was almost ridiculously easy. it takes no effort to place it exactly where it needs to go. i am on day 1 of my period (therefore the heaviest), and i have had zero leakage. the self emptying feature did take me a couple of tries to figure out, but i found that if i lean forward while pushing, it works super easily. i also usually have VERY bad cramps, to the point where i feel like i can barely move. the absolute most i’ve had today is slight discomfort, and i cannot feel the disc at all. i don’t know if it’s the fact that i don’t have a tampon in, if it’s because the placement of the disc relieves cramps, or a combination, but either way, this is the first time in about nine years that i haven’t had a painful cramp on day 1. i will absolutely never go back to any other product, this one has completely changed the game for me!

My new preferred method. But not perfect
I prefer this method to any other... but it takes some getting used to and isn't perfect. The main problem is if I have issues with it being inserted too low when I'm at work... because you need a private sink or a home-made cleanup kit if you have to do any trouble shooting. But I think it's worth it especially if ive gotten it high up enough. More comfortable and economic than tampons. When inserted fully (which isn't always easy for me) it works all day without maintenance. I feel much cleaner overall... even if I get bloody hands when troubleshooting is needed. I also recommend a panty liner in case it is not inserted well... but otherwise it DOES NOT LEAK !!! Im still new at using it, so hopefully it will get easier. It's not painful...I just feel like a have to practically put my whole hand in my hoo-haw to get it past my pubic bone. That's a bit of an exaggeration... but still... im way up in there I also really like the foaming cleanser. Does a great job neutralizing period odor and cleans the disc very well and quickly

Disc vs cup: TMI things to know from a long time user!
First off, I’ve been using both cups and menstrual discs for years. They. Are. The. Best. I bought light “period underwear” for small leaks which I only have to use on my heaviest days. More on that later. Both cups and discs are cramp-free. Read that again. No more cramps. I don’t know the magic but if cramps ruin your life this information might just save it. Totally worth the learning curve! You also shouldn’t feel them while you are wearing them. If you do, you should try a different one, since not all discs/cups are created equal! I started my journey with another brand of discs which I could feel and leaked frequently. This one is the best one I’ve personally tried, but know if you’re built differently then perhaps this one might be problematic for you, while another brand works perfectly. Don’t be afraid to experiment. For heavy bleeders: discs are great for those first couple of days or so. They self-empty when you go to the bathroom, which means you don’t have to ever switch out period products ever again in public bathrooms. Truly, you only need take it out at the end of the day and replace it with a new one! Easy peasy. Beginner friendly since they are disposable. No washing or sterilizing like the cup requires. I know that really grosses out some people. Just toss it. Downside is, you will have to buy them monthly just like most other period products. Not so with the cup (there are discs designed to be reused as well but I do not personally have experience with them, and this review is about this disposable one anyway). Let’s talk disc leakage. It should be minor, unless it gets dislodged during a restroom break. This is my biggest frustration with discs. Sometimes it’s good, but it’s recommended to check its placement after using the bathroom since it sometimes gets out of its place. If you don’t catch it, then it won’t do it’s job. Since they are designed to empty out you may find they might leak with, say, a badly timed sneeze or cough even if it’s in properly. Even so, a light back up pad is normally all you need in such circumstances unless it was very full to begin with. If you feel a leak starting, head to the bathroom. Most of the time that means it is overfull. A light liner is usually all you need for these leaks if caught right away. To sum up: discs are not totally leak-free, but that is actually what makes them so amazing for heavy bleeders, since they freely “leak” into the toilet. Unfortunately they can shift during that process so it’s not totally set-and-forget it, either. Oh wait. Period sex? There is DEFINITELY a learning curve with this. Not so much leak-wise (though I wouldn’t try it if it’s full), but the guy can feel it. Keep that in mind and start slow. There was a BIG difference in this area between this brand and the other one I have tried. This one wasn’t as “sharp”, although hubby is still not a fan so I’m not sure I can recommend it. Cups! Cups are virtually leak-free in every sense with the proper fit. They are not nearly as “one-size-fits-all”: shorter, taller, wider, skinnier, firmer, and softer versions means you may have to try multiple brands and styles before you find one that’s perfect for you. With a proper fit, you should not be able to feel it. They do not self-empty, which means you have to take them out, dump them, and reinsert if they get full. However, in my experience by day 2 or 3 you can easily go all day without having to dump it. I’m a heavy bleeder. If you are a light bleeder, you should be able to use the cup from day 1 for a leak-free period. Outside of the initial “cavity blood” making its way out (the stuff that was already there before you put the cup in - quite minor), you could honestly go without a liner and be good all day as long as your bleeding isn’t heavy enough to fill it up. After day 2 or 3, I normally do this myself. I wear regular underwear and not even a liner for back up. That’s how leak-free it is. With a cup, there should be no sign of your period until you dump it out at the end of the day. No cramps, no blood. 5 stars. You do have to wash it, so “dealing with it” is messier in that sense, maybe. They say to boil it on a stove to sterilize it between cycles, but I find throwing it in the dishwasher works great (it’s only after I’ve already washed it, but if that freaks you out then do what makes you comfortable). I recommend owning at least two cups to let them “breathe” between uses: I don’t personally use the same one non-stop for 7 days even with proper washing habits if I can avoid it. To sum up: I hand down prefer cups over discs on lighter days, because I can completely forget about it all day. No “reminders” when I go use the bathroom. On heavy days, I sometime do a cup, sometimes I do discs. A disc and light liner is easy to keep in your car or purse if you’re caught off-guard while you’re out. That’s it! Hope this has been helpful. Always happy to share TMI if I think it will help out. Try these discs out, you will love them!

My personal amazing experience!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LIFE-CHANGING! I have been a tampon user for YEARS and honestly thought I'd use them forever. After learning more about some of the potential risks associated with tampons, I started looking for alternatives and decided to try the Flex Cup. Unfortunately, cups just weren't for me—I found it uncomfortable and a little painful to insert and wear. Luckily, the disc that came with it completely changed my experience. It was SO much easier to insert, and once it was in place, I genuinely forgot I was even on my period. I wore it through my normal daily routine, including long shifts at work, and had ZERO leaks. After seeing how well it worked for me, my boyfriend surprised me with the reusable version, and I've had the same amazing results. Only slight downside of the disc is that removal could be a little messy at first, but honestly, the overall experience of it is worth a little mess! For me, it has been a total game-changer. No more pads, no more tampons, no leaks, and so much more comfort. I only wish I had tried it sooner! Writing this in hope someone else feels the same way I do hehe :)

Ptsd from the removal process
Easy to get in, minimal leakage! I have a heavy flow and so day 2 required extra trips to the bathroom. Once its in place, you cant feel it. My complaint is that taking it out it out is almost traumatic! "Hooking" it make the content leak out instantly which you can imagine the mess that comes with it. Other than the removal process, Im impressed!

Great Alternative to Tampons and Cups
I've tried pretty much every period product out there (pads, tampons, menstrual cups, and menstrual discs) and i use them all. sometimes I even use two products together (pad+tampon my go to duo), depending on where I'm going and how heavy my flow is that day. there isn't one perfect option for every situation, and I switch between them depending on what I'm doing. the first time I tried the flex menstrual disc was before a brazilian laser hair removal appointment. i knew a tampon or menstrual cup would technically be fine, but I still wasn't comfortable with the possibility of the tampon string or the little stem of the menstrual cup being visible. even though the cup sits higher inside the body, the stem can sometimes peek out when your pelvic muscles are relaxed, like when you're lying on your back in the butterfly position. since the menstrual disc sits differently and doesn't have anything hanging outside the body, it seemed like the perfect solution. I inserted the disc around 8 a.m. before heading to work and completely forgot it was there. i went through my entire workday, had my laser appointment later that afternoon, and everything went perfectly. it was comfortable, completely invisible, and I never felt like it was there. i was honestly impressed. the only downside came later. i got home around 6 p.m., and the second I got out of my car, it suddenly started leaking. it was honestly a disaster and pretty disappointing. looking back, though, I had been wearing the same disc for about 10 hours on a fairly heavy-flow day, so I probably just pushed it past its limit. even though discs can hold a lot, they're not magic. on heavier days, they still need to be emptied or changed regularly. i also have to mention that inserting and removing a menstrual disc can be pretty messy, especially on heavier days. unlike a tampon, you're definitely going to get your fingers dirty. removal can also be tricky because the disc sits tucked into a small pocket just behind your pubic bone. if it gets pushed a little farther back than usual, it can be difficult to reach the rim with your finger to hook it and pull it out. one thing I kept hearing before trying a menstrual disc was that you can have sex while wearing one. of course, I had to test it. i'll be honest, it didn't work out the way I expected. based on my experience, I think it might work for some couples, especially if your partner is smaller or if your anatomy is different. the disc kept getting pushed farther inside. with penetration, the disc kept getting pushed farther inside so I could barely reach it afterward. removing it became much more difficult than usual, and honestly, the whole experience wasn't worth it. if you're buying a menstrual disc mainly because you've heard you can have mess-free period sex with it, I'd keep your expectations realistic. I've also seen a lot of people say that menstrual discs help reduce period cramps. personally, I can't really agree or disagree with that because I usually don't get menstrual cramps, so I didn't notice any difference. overall, I'm really glad I tried the flex menstrual disc. it has become another option, especially for situations where I don't want a visible tampon string or menstrual cup stem. It's comfortable, holds a lot, and once you get used to inserting and removing it, it's easy to wear. just be mindful of how long you've had it in on heavy-flow days.

I love this
Definitely give these a try! I love these because it feels like you’re not on your period at all, just make sure you place it properly at the cervix! Pretty easy to learn!

Incredible
Couldn’t recommend it enough. I’m 28 and have never used a tampon, or cup in my life - pads only, so this was a completely new, and somewhat daunting experience. I was scared it would get stuck inside, which is the reason I never bought a cup, but this one seemed less likely to create a hard to break suction and get stuck, so I went for it. I definitely struggled the first couple tries to get it in properly, but on my 3rd attempt I did it perfectly and now have no issues. I have no leakage, I can’t feel it, and if I didn’t experience pain (I have Endo) then I wouldn’t even know I was on my period. Absolute game changer, sucks I’ve spent 14 years menstruating without this lol. Only downside is price, however I would pay that all day long for the benefits, and it is a bit messy changing it, but you only have to do it once every 12 hours, so it’s no big deal having a bit of a mess twice a day. And it’s super easy to take out which was my biggest concern, will never use another period product again

Not for having fun with the partner
I bought the disposable discs because they were advertised as ‘mess-free period s.x’ and ‘barely noticeable.’ Honestly, I don’t see how that could be true. The ring is large, tall, and rigid, and both my partner and I could feel it, very uncomfortable. That said, I still find it a better alternative to tampons.

This ain’t it
Awkward. Uncomfortable. Will stick with a proper cup. Definitely can’t be used for intimate times during ones period, to avoid the messy clean up, as it has been suggested.. the ring is like the top off a juice container lol..
