I saw Brian Skerry's photos in a traveling educational exhibit about sharks. This book was featured and I immediately purchased it. It is an amazing book filled with his photography and words about what fascinated him about sharks and made him make them his life's work. Amazon shipped me a copy that had a torn binding and immediately replaced it. I'm super happy with the book and if you like sharks and photography, this is definitely a must for you!

If you have any interest in sharks and in conserving this keystone predator and the ocean, you must get this book. If you have any interest in photography, particularly underwater images, you must get this book by the master, Brian Skerry. The text, by Mr. Skerry and National Geographic writers, is excellent, informative and spellbinding. The pictures, however, are the real reason this book stands out from any of the many books about sharks. Skerry is an artist with the camera. He captures not just the power and grace of sharks, but the poetry and beauty of the most feared and maligned species of sharks. And he shows us why the fear is misplaced, and rather than be maligned, sharks should be respected and engender awe. This is the perfect book for any season, but especially in summer, not just for the coffee table, but for reading an engrossing story illustrated by the master.

Quality paper & printing. Beautiful photos

This is a very nice "coffee table" book. I purchased it for my sister for a Christmas present, and she loves it. It has several very nice, high-quality photographs. I was very impressed with the quality of the book.

I bought this for my daughter who loves sharks and wants to be a marine biologist. The pictures and amazing and she was thrilled.

Although there are hundreds of species of sharks the author deals with only four- the tiger,the great white,the shortfin and the whitetip.There ios a good introductory chapter on a sharks life and habits but what really makes the book are the magnificent pictures. The text is minimal but good. There is no index.Recommended

Arrived quickly , oh I was well pleased with this superb book . The pictures are stunning and written informatively , all in all a great shark book well received and I would certainly recommend it .

As an avid diver, this is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Incredible photography. I’m forcing everyone to read mine or buy a copy.
