It's time to heal...with the help of this book
As a yoga teacher, this book emphasized and re-vitalized my passion for providing students with classes that suit their individual needs and to be conscious of people's unique paths.Through intention, moment-by-moment presence, and the establishment (ongoing) of a safe environment for trauma survivors, the potential to heal is possible. I just feel so empowered to continue my journey as a human and a healer. PLUS, I love how Joann talks about the need for the therapist or yoga teacher to be aware and in tune with their own ANS and self-care, as well as the practices they are teaching (ie - consistently engage in Nidra, hatha practice, and breathing techniques). This is a vital reminder, indeed, especially as a teacher with my own chronic disease and trauma. To be human is experience trauma. Let's work together to heal in a safe and loving environment. This guide is a wonderful tool.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga
Joann Lutz’s nervous system informed, trauma-sensitive yoga (NITYA) is clearly presented within the contextual frame of a somatic psychotherapeutic healing modality in her new book, Trauma Healing in the Yoga Zone. A valuable resource for dedicated, empathetic practitioners, and those on the journey to heal body, mind and spirit.
