This is just like the traditional moth balls your grandmother used, only it's not moth balls, it is in a larger solid form which is better because it evaporates much more slowly. You put it in a provided "hanger" in your closet or wherever you want and it does it's job to prevent moths and protect your clothing.Of course it has an odor, but I don't mind it at all, it makes me feel rather nostalgic. That being said, you should keep your closets doors closed. In addition, if your closet doors are left ajar, the project evaporates much more quickly.Once you take your garment out of the closet, the odor leaves in 10 -20 minutes.Another use for this produst is to tuck it in a rolled-up carpet.I purchase these regularly, and hope they make it forever.

I wanted a bar (rectangular) with plastic breathable case. But I got one round shaped with the package being usable as a breathable case. How long before it gets used up. I guess have to try it.

While the aroma of moth cakes is not the greatest, these do the job when we have to close our trailer for the season. They are easy to use--refillable holders are economical and most importantly--they work well at keeping critters out! We put them in the trailer before we close the door in October and when we reopen in April--all has been well. Have been using them the past ten years! Seller does a great job getting them to us quickly and well packaged, too!

Very much like these moth cakes. Have used them for years...ordered many times. THIS TIME WAS DIFFERENT: 2 boxes. An outside shipping box from Amazon. Inside another box with a green "taped on" label reading AMAZON. Inside were only 10 cakes, NOT 12 as usual. Plus cakes were very noisy and could be seen to have been broken inside their wrappings. Not good. Appears the sender did a poor job of packaging and shorted me by 2. Not good.

I have used these for years for closets that have costs and sweaters. They work great and don’t have too strong of a smell

The Allen wrench is hard to use if you’re wrists aren’t strong. However, it turned out very nice & is in my garden now.
