Lost a controller to our Liftmaster gate opener. This easy to setup and works just like the original.

I bought this because I lost one of my LiftMaster garage door remote control. I did some research and found this to be the best replacement for my original one. I didn't realize that it came with a battery already installed so all I had to do was set it up via the learn button on my garage door opener. The entire process took about 5 minutes including taking the remote out of the box and getting on my ladder to press the learn button.

I wanted to be sure and get the brand that matched my garage door motor. Works great easy to program.

I bought 8 of them (4 garages with two cars in each one). I didn't go for the off-brands which were MUCH less expensive, thinking that the original equipment from Liftmaster would be higher quality. These work fine. But, the buttons are loose on all of the units, and they rattle. Poor manufacturing design. I'll figure out some way of dampening the rattle, but I shouldn't have to.

This remote lets you program two different frequencies if you need to. I bought a new opener, but it operates on a different frequency than my old one, so neither my new remote or my old remote could be programmed for both doors. My research found that one door operates at 315 MHz and the other at 390 MHz. This dual frequency remote let me put both openers on this one remote, programming one button for my old opener and another button for my new opener. Perfect solution for incompatible single frequency openers. If you read this review you can check what you are buying before you buy it and skip the frustration I had. The whole incompatibiity issue was a surprise to me because both old and new openers were Sears and the remotes looked very similar. Chamberlain has a great website with programming instructions and info to tell what kind of remote you need. Couldn't be happier with the product - price was reasonable, too.

When we got our automatic garage door opener motor and controller replaced, the new "advanced electronics" precluded our old doorbell-buzzer jury-rigged second unit, allowing us to open or close the door from the garage door or from the top of the stairs down to the garage. The new unit is only compatible with wireless: 1 for each of our 2 cars, one just inside the garage door, and a keypad just outside the garage door. This inexpensive unit allows us to put another controller at the top of the stairs, a great convenience.

The instructions were perfect, especially with various models if Lift Master garage openers. Instructions are more than worth the additional $10
