Vallejo VAL80260 Model Paint Set, Various, 8 ml (Pack of 40)

The colors in this set are of excellent quality and blend beautifully, making them ideal for painting 3D models. However, I encountered an issue with the varying weights of the bottles; some contain more than expected, while others contain less. This inconsistency suggests a lack of quality control in verifying the fill amounts. Given the high price of the product, I expected more attention to detail and consistency in the packaging

Like seen in the picture, one paint cap is broken, this means that my gold is all dried up and useless. Because I found out after usage of other colors the whole package is not returnable. Further all is good, the paints are nice. Sadly with opening the case, all paints nearly fell out. They gave extra space for taller bottles to store, but because of this you need to carry the case horizantally.

These are mini bottles, not full bottles. Any of the "kidz" line are minis. As long as you know how to be conservative with paints this is a great deal and prefer it to the large bottle sets. Vellejo paints are a little more liquid than some other types and for brush painting I highly recommend you use a small concave paint pallette to place your paint to dip your brushes in. On a flat pallette the paint will dry far too fast, you'll be annoyed, and it'll waste a lot of paint - specially with small bottles. But small concave palettes will fix the issue. There are a lot of variety of paint types and colors in this mix. Great selection of flesh colors, not any quality metalics though. Popular colors are repeated across 3 types: base, standard, wash. Base is OK, it's thicker and more intense color but also more sensitive to drying too fast and streaking. Color is standard that can be layered thinly or thickly and are the majority. The washes are surprisingly fantastic and nice to not have to make your own washes. Their washes are better than what I usually end up making which was an unexpected surprise. The wash's finish is slight glossy while the other two are matte. You do need a good primer with theses. They Def chip without it, but that's not uncommon with plastic figures. While there's duplicates of colors across types, there are some standalone unique colors in the standard color type, enough that you can make most colors you'd want. Its not a perfect set, but it's a fanstic set for anyone but the more serious painter or to augment an exist collection. I did buy a 6-7 piece metalics set separately as metalics are important to me and I wanted quality. I should note I'm an old school miniature painter from the 90s early 2000s where Citidel and Vellejo were the only two paints available in my region. There's more competition now that I haven't tried so I can't compare other than to say these are better than most Citidel, though not all. I think Citidel still makes quality metalics even if their paints tend to dry out in the pot/bottle and I have to throw over half away where Vallejo doesn't.
