I love that the whole family can join in and it has kids of all ages at different levels. The back ground scenery is very peaceful putting you in the mood. My kids compete with one another to see who can do the poses and hold it the longest. I would definitely recommend this to others and also purchase this as gift. --GiselleI teach kids yoga and love this DVD series. It really builds from beginner to advanced yoga in a fun safe way that encourages kids to play and try something new. It has a pace and style that meets kids and holds their attention. I got many new ideas of poses kids like to try that I have incorporated into my classes. I recommend it to my yoga families to help them continue a yoga practice at home together. It is a series of classes that the parents can enjoy and it definately engages the kids to want to do yoga too. I would say this series is ideal for ages 6 to 14 but can include other family members. --Satori (yoga instructor)I love the 2nd Edition of Kids World Yoga! All three classes are now on one DVD and easily accessible through a simple menu. My family and I just love the daily exercise! Best childs beginner DVD. Best also for youself if you have never done yoga. It makes you feel great!!! We do it every day
I LOVE THIS DVD......My 4 yr. old child and myself love this DVD. The instructor takes her time using a very calming voice, soft relaxing music in the background.. She gives the instructions and tells you what you should be feeling and what it does for your body. I am so impressed with this DVD. She also never encourages to push yourself. So the children feel no failure. It is better than the adult one I purchased and I hate it ( don't buy, "Easing into Yoga", By Linda Howard. She just taped one of her class that she has been teaching. Everyone is doing the poses before you can even do it yourself then goes to her next pose. Her DVD is bad. I suggest do not buy.!!!!Kids World Yoga is great.Bridget Van Block ,M.A. teaches the beginner class, the intermediate class and the advanced class. She makes it fun and so relaxing even if you cant get into the poses completely, trying still is enjoyable. Each day we get better and closer to theposes. She is so talented in her instruction that you can close your eyes and get yourself in the pose without even looking at the instructorWe have one more DVD we love called, "Storyland Yoga" by Ahmed Fahmy. He is a great instructor and story teller There are 2 stories about animals and nature (with pictures too) IT is a very fun work out for children and yourself I also love this DVD. Kids World Yoga I the Best!

This is a very good video to share the benefits of yoga with your child. It is not a pansy workout either. My daughter bailed on me half way through the beginner portion. lol. I have been participating in yoga and pilates for many years, until a couple years ago I was rear ended. I have a back injury from it now, so I though, I'll get this and work back in slowly. Let's just say you will feel the stretch. Even if your child only goes half way like mine, keep at it, before long they will do the whole thing with you. Not to mention the example of good health they will be receiving.

More Challenging Than You'd Think, But Can Modify
My 11-year-old, who has special needs (autism and intellectual delay), failed his physical fitness test (he has a lot of problems with coordination and stamina) and I decided to get my kids into working out. Nothing heavy-duty; just lots more exercise outside (this is great for me too!), school sports and the occasional workout tape with Mom. However, I could tell he and my 8-year-old were bored and a bit over-challenged by my "adult" workout tapes. Both of my children's schools occasionally do Cosmic Kids Yoga, and they like to show me the poses. So I decided to look for a yoga DVD for them that would be different from Cosmic Kids to mix things up.This tape is CHALLENGING. In the "beginner" mode, there is, for example, a sequence of the child lying on her stomach, lifting her head and grasping her ankles from behind her, then rocking. A LOT of flexibility and balance is required in this DVD; however, I found that all of the poses could be modified, and the instructor does repeat that the child should let him/herself know when s/he is finished with the pose, so they can drop the pose a bit early if they need to.The background is very cool, the kids are very diverse and having children be the "stars" really does give my kids the feeling that they can "do this." I do like the length of the tape: not too short and not too long. And of course, you can vary the total amount of poses you do.The poses are long enough to be a good, true pose, but the sequence moves along fairly quickly and my kids don't get bored. The relaxation part (the final portion) runs a bit long and my kids keep popping their eyes open and asking when it will be done. It's probably a more appropriate length for adults and gives instructions slowly, one body part at a time.It is a challenge but, I feel, in a good way and my boys are very proud that they can "do yoga." If your children are more on the easily distracted side, you may want to look for something that truly is "beginner" (I just don't consider even the "Beginner" portion really beginner on this DVD). Again, you can modify but I feel some children might just give up. As for us, we're doing this every two to three days and getting so much out of it.

Perfection with one fatal flaw
Something no one else has mentioned in their reviews is that the audio cueing is opposite to the image in the video. Your child can either mirror the child on the screen OR follow the audio cues. So if the child in the video is leaning one way, the audio instruction is telling your child to lean another. This is not only annoying, but confusing, as some of the twisting poses are challenging to set up correctly. My kids would set their bodies up like the video, then the narrator would say to place your right hand on your left knee when really they needed it the other way around. Do I do what they SAY or what they are DOING?As others mentioned, this is a fast-paced true yoga class for kids. Even the beginner section does some challenging poses in a somewhat rapid succession, but it works well for my kids (ages 7 and 10) who are familiar with quite a few yoga poses already and don't want to sit through long introductions, silly songs, and animal play. I really love the sequencing, challenge and pace of this video and if they ever re-recorded the audio instructions correctly, I would actually re-purchase it. We've done probably 6 different yoga DVDs and this would be my favorite were it not for the opposite instructions. When introducing kids to yoga, I highly recommend some of the books out there (the Babar yoga book is great) or the kids yoga deck, which have pictures and kids can go through the poses at their pace. Kids don't like to hold poses for long, unlike adults, but they do need whatever time it takes to get the pose set up before moving on. If you go through the book or the deck a few times, then when you do a video like this, the poses will be familiar.
