A decent watercolour travel set, but missing a few items that would make it great.
Product Packaging: This is a beautiful travel palette -- the visual design is gorgeous!Product Design: The size of this travel case is perfect -- it fits directly in your hand and has a very handy hook on the side that you can use to hold the palette while you're drawing. The pans themselves, though they move in their rows, don't fall out if you're holding the palette up, rather than setting it down. There's also space for another half-pan on each row, so you can mix and match with other palettes for a total of what looks like 14 half-pans. The travel palette itself is very sturdy, which is great if you're just chucking it into your bag. Additionally, I noticed that the info packet included with the palette has been updated with a lot more information -- including the opacity and lightfastness of each colour. Now for the cons: 1) Even though you can mix the blue and yellow to make a green, the lack of one did hinder my ability to draw more earthy, nature-based works. I would have preferred that instead of three blues or even two yellows, one of these colours would have been switched out for a green to make a more balanced and holistic palette (especially if this is considered Clasico). 2) Other travel palettes usually come with a brush, whereas this one does not. I do think adding a mini water-brush in the middle between the two rows of pans would make this palette more complete. 3) Additionally, there was no splash guard, which I would have liked to keep my swatch card and info packet clean. I ended up going back to another Zen Art supplies travel palette (the Allegro 24 half-pan palette) to make up for some of the colors.Quality & Performance: Paint - Fantastic. Very pigmented and fast-drying. I'm especially in love with the Lamp Black shade!Overall, I would say this is a decent watercolour travel set, but it's missing a few items that would make it great -- a green shade and a brush, primarily. However, the size, the compactness, and the quality of the colours themselves are great, especially for a beginner on the go. The price point I believe is within reason for the quality, quantity, and variety of product ($26-30), BUT I have to say, that I keep going back to Zen's Allegro 24 half-pan palette, which I think has more bang for its buck.

Vibrant and Portable Watercolors
As an artist who rather infrequently uses watercolor, I was absolutely thrilled with the ZenART Professional Watercolor Paint Set Classico! This set of 12 half-pan watercolors is simply stunning, with vibrant and essential primary colors that truly bring my paintings to life. The metal tin palette is a great addition, as it keeps my paints organized and easily accessible while I work. It's also portable, making it easy to take my watercolor set with me on the go.I'm especially pleased that these watercolors are non-toxic, which gives me peace of mind while I work. The quality of the pigments is exceptional, and the colors mix together beautifully to create a wide range of shades and hues. The paint is also highly saturated, which means I don't need to use as much of it to get the results I want.Overall, I highly recommend the ZenART Professional Watercolor Paint Set Classico to any watercolor artist, beginner or experienced. This set is truly a joy to work with and has quickly become one of my favorites and ZenArt always has such a nice way of packaging and nice product presentation, which makes the experience even more enjoyable!

Great quality for the price! Vibrant colors
This was a great watercolor palette! The texture is so smooth and glides right on the paper, and everything mixes how I would anticipate. There also isn't the chalky feel to the paint pans when they're dry which I've had before. The paint is also super pigmented and I don't need to go back over the pan two or three times to pick up the color. The palette holds onto the pans a lot better than others I've had too and I love the loop that allows you to hold the palette as you're painting, if you want to take it on the go. The only negative was that I wish the greens were a little more different from one another-- so maybe I would like one of the other palette options, so this is more of a personal preference. I would absolutely recommend this palette for artists of all skill levels.

Great set of soft professional water colors and affordable!
I got the moderno water color pallette and i highly recommend them! I love water colors and I'm still learning how to use them but these are so soft and smooth and they blend so well. I am absolutely in love with the portable tin as well! I haven't finished the whole painting but I painted for about an hour using these paints and the zen art mini paint brush set as well. I can only upload one video to Amazon reviews but I made another video going over the overview of the paints and what comes in the box with them. I love how well these paints blend and the unique colors that are included. These are definitely my favorite set of water colors so far! Can't wait to keep practicing with them! After you unwrap them they can slide around so you'll want to tighten the little tin backa by pulling them forward just slightly and then pushing your paints back in to prevent then from sliding. I personally used the tin sections to mix my paint and I just wiped it out when finished so super easy cleanup. Since they are soft professional water colors you should go easy on the water. I'm more used to cheap craft supply water colors so it took me a little bit to learn the difference in texture but honestly I'll never look back! I have quote a few things from zen art and I've loved everything I've gotten from them. I have quite a few art supplies in general lol but zen art always has great supplies that I can actually afford!

High quality and affordable
My first impression was that the packaging was lovely and even more importantly, high quality. The plastic was sturdy and the pans were held securely in a metal tray. It is compact and is an excellent travel palette. Each pan was individually wrapped with helpful information about the colour and I noticed most were single pigments which is incredibly helpful for clean colour mixing. It also comes with a lovely little swatch card to test the colours on that tucks away in the lid. I was absolutely blown away by the pigmentation at such a low price point and the lightfastness rating seemed good. This would be an amazing affordable gift for someone learning to paint with watercolour as the performance is butter smooth and richly pigmented, so no frustration of fighting with poor quality paints or worrying about wasting expensive paints. As a professional I'm more than happy to use it for my work. I personally don't use white paint but it's handy for landscape artists on the go, and I would have preferred Burnt Umber instead of Raw Umber as I mix a lot of deep browns. My absolute favourite pigment was the Pthalo Blue, it was just gorgeous.

Loved it
I love this product and is worth the price. The paint is very nice and smooth. The range of colours in this palette is a good mix between very saturated primary colours and more natural-looking browns and blues. Perfect for exploring all kinds of colour combinations, as is suggested on the packaging. I also like how the packaging shows the way colours look on paper. It does have a swatch card inside so that you can do it yourself, but it is good to have an idea of what they would look like straight away. When it comes to the pallet itself, I was particularly impressed with the removable tray. There are extra mixing spaces underneath, which is ideal for travelling. It also has a ring on the back of the palette in case you need to hold it as you paint. I will definitely be taking this with me on my next adventure. The only downside I can point out is that this palette does not come with a brush, as one could expect.

Comparable to Big Brands
I had great fun swatching and exploring the colours in this little travel palette, there's a good, robust selection of (as the name implies) classic colours that make it a great, versatile little travel set. The half pans are generously filled with highly pigmented paint that mixes up to a really nice creamy consistency without too much time or pressure on your brush unlike cheap sets. On the paper they were nice and smooth (any patchiness is down to my amateur technique, I've only been using watercolours for about a year), they have a good opacity and vibrant shades that aren't fading as they dry. I was able to blend on the paper with my fingers and tissue to create some really nice shading and texture effects. Overall, I would say this is a great, affordable set for any budding painter, student or hobbyist without compromising on the quality which is comparable to other very well known brands in a similar price range and I would definitely put them among my recommendations for people I know.

Good travel set
I found this watercolour set to be perfect to paint with, and very convenient for travel. The selection of colours is nice and broad, perfect for landscapes or portraiture. I found these watercolours to be really smooth, and easy to blend. I typically use liquid watercolours in tubes, but these were much more convenient for my needs. The travel tin is compact, but has plenty of space for mixing colours in the paint wells. I'd like to try using this to paint outdoors, as I think it would be a very practical watercolour set. It’s important to use high quality watercolour paper when painting, as this completely changes the experience. I used Archers cold pressed watercolour paper, and I found the paints to apply smoothly and blend easily. The colours were particularly vibrant, and highly pigmented. I do not know how they will perform in terms of light-fastness, but so far I am impressed with the results, both in use and once my painting has dried.
