Does the unit, lock automatically on the outside every time the door is closed? Is there a code you can enter to keep it unlocked until you are ready

For security reasons, the lock was designed to be back to "lock" position within three seconds automatically after a correct code is entered. This security feature will prevent a "forgot-and-left-unlock" after an entry. However, if you need to open/close frequently without the need for security, you can consider setting up "passage mode" with one-key touch open without entering an access code. Will it work with any door swing

This Keyless Door Lock (electronic keypad lock) Fits both left and right-hinged doors. It is Designed for Do It Yourself (DIY), and Easily replaces most existing door locks. A passage code (one-digit) can be set as entry code. From inside, lock is open by turning the knob without entry code. For more FAQ, please visit our website (below).KatieSoHoMiLL.com

What happens when the batteries run out?

There is a small plug under the knob (keypad side) for backup battery box and cable jumper (both included) to plug in. Please keep four AAA batteries in the backup battery box "outside" for emergency - if you decide to IGNORE the "battery low warning!" Please visit our website for more FAQ

Is there a way to turn off the sound/beep?

I followed the instructions below and it worked! Enter your master code, wait for the beep to stop, and press "*" before the light goes off. This disables the sound on my lock.
