Cut roots in sand - no problem!

WATCH OUT FOR SCREWS! Good blades. Fair price.The first blade I used while taking down an old deck. It was cutting well through the old wood deck boards and joists. It cut through a couple of nails OK. Then I hit an old screw within the first five minutes of using it. This dulled a 3 inch section of the blade. I was very disappointed and about to return them.I put a new blade in and, avoiding screws, it would go through nails pretty good, without any apparent damage to the blade. I then used it to cut through several 1 inch to 8 inch roots on a large oak stump I am taking out. I did my best to avoid dirt and gravel, but I still hit it several times. The blade seem to tolerate that and cut pretty well. I did a lot of trimming of lower branches of trees on our property up to a couple inches in diameter. The blade works very well.I’ve used a lot of 9 inch blades, these are the first 12 inch ones I’ve used. I really like the extra length. I was impressed by how well they resist bending or being deformed. They seem to cut about the same as my old Diablo blades but we’re cheaper. Also, I really like the tip on these blades. It had a pair of small teeth that allows you to plunge cut and flush cut really well. I would buy these again. JUST DON’T TRY AND CUT SCREWS! (-:

blades work just fine

I love these blades for landscaping in areas with old root systems (inactive). You can abuse and quickly replace them rather than digging a 20' hole or having to resharpen a chainsaw.

If your cutting lumber or wood this is the only blade to use

I bought a package of these blades to use to help cut the roots on a stump of a tree in my yard. The good news is that the stump is out. The bad it took 2 blades to do the trick. Ice hardened or not, the blades don't cut rocks. The teeth are still there but they are not sharp. These blades have a 5 year warranty, but I don't see how they'd last that long... Back to my story, when I hit a small rock, sparks flew, dirt spewed, roots still cut though.Anyway I have a 12amp sawzall with a variable speed orbital cut (1 + 1/8th) and the sawzall was up to the job. Given these blades, there is not much that will stop you.The nice thing is that these blades did not bend, or bind. If you are pruning, I'd go for the pruning blades though rather than these. And they are a little big on the tip & long for a plunge cut into a 2x4 without drilling a hole to start.

Great for pruning trees and for rough cuts where precision is not an issue. Amazon's price has Home Depot beat all to hell so I'm very happy to buy these here. Milwaukee invented the Sawzall and they still make the best blades.
