Great cleaning solution for film.
Ordered these after finishing up the single bottle I originally bought. Works great for cleaning decades old 35mm slides. Beware of fumes.

Cleaner for Negatives
On my first order this came in and was spilled out into the box. The company did right by me and replaced the product for me. I in return bought several more containers from them, because this is the type of company that I like, ones who do right by their clients. This is great for cleaning pictures (always test first) and for cleaning old negatives up. It works and it amazing. I would suggest using in a well ventilated room if the strong odor bothers you.

Does the job better than I believed possible
I'm in the process of scanning more than a thousand Kodachrome slides (some 60 years old) and a huge quantity of photographs and negatives. Some of the photographs have been handled well, others not so well and are extremely dirty. With the Photographic Emulsion cleaner I've been able to remove spots, mold, even the dirt from 50 year old fingerprints. It's worked near miracles. There are some flaws that won't go away, the instructions clearly state that if the product doesn't work the first time, don't try a second, it can't remove every spot and repeated use may damage the emulsion. Certain emulsions will not tolerate the cleaner, a test procedure is outlined on the bottle. The cleaner has an extremely potent odor. If you're doing more than one or two photographs you need to get away from your work area to use it-leaving a window cracked open isn't a bad idea. It doesn't take much, just a little squirt on a cloth, don't use it at all unless a photograph needs it. It looks like this one container may see me through the entire project.

Works good make sure you open a window
So far we found this product be very effective for its advertised use. The only downside and I'm sure this is unavoidable is the fumes that it puts off when in use. Now I don't know much about the chemicals but I do know that for a general film cleaner we have switched to a product that we have to pick up locally because it can't be shipped because of its flammability. Interestingly we found this product we picked up locally did not have the harsh fumes of the one we used to get shipped to us. I know this is a review but it makes me wonder if chemicals are added to some of these cleaning compounds so that they can be shipped state to state. And if those chemicals are in fact the ones that add such a harsh aroma. So in closing just note that you'll need to use this product in an extremely well ventilated area. Otherwise we found this product to be extremely effective for its advertised use.

The product is fine but the driver keeps delivering to motorhome instead of the house!

Amazing product
It was actually better than I expected it to be. I found an old photograph from 1903 which had scratches and dirt on it. I was so afraid to try to do anything on my own with it. After looking on the internet, I saw this product mentioned several times. I bought it with a little trepidation, but was amazed how well it worked. I would highly recommend this product.

the product works, but has an unusual smell
hello, i needed a good quality cleaner for some very old color slides, before i scan them to my hard drive from the scanner. this product works as defined, but has a strong odor that reminds me of the old spirit duplicator (also referred to as a Ditto machine in the US). when the newly filled fluid was installed in the ditto machine and the first few copies were run off, it gave an unusual smell that lingered all day. this Photographic Emulsion Cleaner has that smell. use in a well ventilated area and not near heat sources. it does its job, but i think i will find another less smelly product to do the job. if you can stand the odor, it does a great job on the cleaning end. but....

Use with adequate ventilation and you are good to go.
I understand some of the reviewers saying the product has a vapor, but that goes along with the territory. This is not water, it is a special chemical designed to evaporate quickly. I used the product outside and also in a bathroom I don't usually use and I had the window open to give ventilation. That worked to help dissipate the vapors. The PEC removed some residue on several very poor condition negatives and I was able to clean them and scan them and get a much cleaner result. I just used a tiny amount and I agree with other posters that this bottle will last a LONG time. When the package arrived, I knew exactly what it was because I could smell the vapor coming from the packaging. If you need to clean oil based residue from negatives or slides this will do the trick.

Poduit efficace.

Great base cleaner.
Pec 12 is very useful at certain applications. In my view its performance as an emulsion cleaner is limited to use on current 35mm colour film and even then you risk damaging the negative. On older film where the chemical composition of the emulsion may have shifted caution is highly recommended. I would be very wary of using it on any slide film emulsion and certainly never use it on Kodachrome emulsion. If in doubt only apply on the smooth base side of the film. Its better to have a print with with some flaws or a scan you can alter in photoshop than a destroyed negative. I have used it on the base side of 1960s film to remove marks left by condensation on glass mounted slides and it performed very well. Using a Giottos GTAA1900 Rocket Air Blower - Black then a Matin M-6328 Small Size Goat Hair Dust Brush to remove any loose debris is important. Then spray some of the pec 12 on Photographic Solutions 10x10cm Pec Pad (Pack of 100) as the final part of the cleaning routine. Use sparingly or it will leave a residue. It is very strong so don't plan to clean a large amount in one go and keep the area well ventilated.

works as advertised
Cleans finger prints and non-water based stains as advertised. Too bad many dirt spots on old negatives are water based!

I thought I reviewed this last time I purchased one ...
I thought I reviewed this last time I purchased one, it arrived within dates stated, and it cleans photo and film, but needs care on old photos as they are not fixed the same, not cheap but works as claimed

Effective cleaning solution
This is fantastic for all Kodak slides. Very happy customers in that department. Also very useful for cleaning sticker residue that may get left behind on stuff. Probably also good for cleaning other things but I'll have to experiment and let you all know what they are!
