Jesus First: The Life and Leadership of Andrew Evans Paperback – 1 May 2017

This is a great read. Really appreciated the accounts of Pastors Tommy and Stella Evans coming to faith in God and subsequent call to the mission field in India. It was great learning of some of the behind the scenes stories, particularly in regards his leadership of the Assemblies of God in Australia. Having met him personally, and having heard him minister many times, I know that this book authentically captures something of the essence of Pastor Andrew's life and ministry. A great read!

I don't read many biographies, but this one kept my attention from start to finish. I laughed (out loud!), cried and was inspired from page to page. Andrew's life journey is exciting, inspirational and moving, and the first-hand accounts from him and those who know him well are so beautifully expressed by the author. The moments of grief are not passed over, and yet also show that it is possible to move forward by the grace of God. Highly recommended.

I could not put this book down until I finished it. A worthwhile read and I was inspired by the principles Andrew Evans used in his ministry and political life. For me, a General of God in the Christian history of Australia. A great generational blessing!

This book is well-researched and reveals the rich history of the Australian Christian Churches, and of the Evans family. I recommend this to anyone who wishes to understand the roots of the ACC.
