Carolina Custom Cages, 48Lx18Wx24H Tall Extra-Long Terrarium; Easy Assembly

I have bought several Carolina Custom Cages for our bearded dragon and each cage was well worth the price due to design, ease of setup, and dependability. The packaging of the cage for shipment from them was also very well thought out because everything was insulated inside the package. Honestly, it was so well packaged that it actually took much longer to unpack from the shipping box than it did to put the enclosure together; but, I was happy with that because I would rather that, than open the package to find everything broken from shipping.There is a basic installation & setup sheet (which to be honest, that could be a little redesigned with better images and instructions), but each piece of glass is labeled with a small sticker stating where the glass piece is to be installed on the cage base frame. I recommend thoroughly cleaning the base part of the enclosure prior to installing the glass. Once you are finished (which should take less than 10 minutes), you will be pleased that you purchased this product. The main thing I like is the fact that the front glass slides back and forth, as opposed to other enclosures that swing open (while those are nice as well, and I have had those), the sliding front glass is less susceptible to being broken.To complement the cage I also purchased their branded UVB strip light with dual GU10 halogen bulbs that mount sleekly underneath the enclosure top. I use the Arcadia T5 HO 12% desert UVB bulbs with a 75w and 50w GU10 halogen bulb for the basking lamp. I strongly recommend to also purchase the Solarmeter Model 6.5R reptile UV index meter (pricey at around $250) because we all know that the good UVB bulbs such as the Arcadia bulbs are pricey, but without a UV meter there is no way for you to know if your beardie or other reptile is getting the proper amount of UVB light it needs.

I ordered this enclosure for my bearded dragon. While I read several reviews stating that the product arrived damaged, I decided to take a shot. I received a message from Carolina Custom Cages a day or two before the package arrived, assuring me that if the enclosure arrived damaged, there was a solution (either replacement glass if it was one of the front/back/side panels or refund/replacement if the lower portion was damaged). Luckily, I didn't have to deal with any of that since the enclosure arrived in tact. The enclosure was ship box in a box with plenty of foam to pad everything. Assembly was a breeze and the instructions were clear. My glass came with little labels to indicate which piece of glass went wear (although I did need my readers to see what the labels said) so that wasn't an issue. All in all, the construction is quite sturdy and my beardie is loving her new home.

I ordered this for my newly adopted adult Beardie because the habitat he came to us with was a bit small for his size. I did a lot of research before deciding on this brand and I could not be happier with my purchase. It came earlier than expected and it was packaged remarkably well. Everything was double packed, wrapped, and securely nestled in Styrofoam - in pristine condition. The set-up was simple and took only 30-45 minutes and I did it solo - even battling the flu.My beardie is still acclimating to his new home but I can already see a reduction in his stress marks and glass surfing so I know he's going to love it! It isn't complete, as I plan to build him some ramps to utilize as much vertical space as possible and get him closer to his basking lamp. This one is about 6 inches taller than his old enclosure and so I'm thinking I may have to add a second heat source through the winter in order to achieve optimal basking temp, so keep that in mind if you're considering going taller rather than wider with your next habitat.The ONLY suggestions I could make for possible improvement is maybe some extra ventilation and an option for these dimensions but with doors that swing outward. His old, smaller enclosure had ventilation slits on the front under the doors and the doors were hinged instead of sliding. It was much easier to clean and I feel like more ventilation could only be a positive.Overall, EXTREMELY happy with this purchase and looking forward to building it up even more to make it the perfect home for Bowser!

I bought this for my daughter’s pet who needed a bigger enclosure. She planned out the new layout and built the accessories. Unfortunately, the tank dimensions listed are inaccurate (smaller) so now the custom accessories won’t fit and she’s out all that time and money! If the dimensions had been right, they would have fit. It’s that close.Additionally, the assembly was a pain in the neck. The sides aren’t hard but you have to line them up perfectly or the front glass comes tumbling out. I took several hits as the glass came out, thankfully never hitting the floor. One of the corner screws stripped then got stuck. Using several other tools I was able to mostly get it seated. So, the glass doors are barely in their slots and they doors won’t slide nicely. There’s nothing on the doors to grip (no handle?) so you have to use the palm of your hand which then smears fingerprints in the glass. The lock doesn’t lock at all.The only upside is that the packaging was indeed very well done. Not one missing or broken item.

We purchased this for my daughter who wanted a bearded dragon. It was an expensive purchase and it’s a huge container but I have to say that it was a good decision. The bearded dragon actually has a pretty recognizable personality and my family does not feel like we are abusing it since it has a large cage to move around in. Great product. Great purchase! Would definitely suggest others get this as a terrarium or cage for their lizard pets!

This tank is fantastic and so easy to assemble. I was hesitant to order at first because I was concerned about all the glass breaking during shipping, but it was so well packed and nothing was broken. I am so happy I went with this tank and Boga loves his upgrade.
