THE NORTH FACETruckee - Men's

Excellent sneaker
very nice sneaker, my foot measures 28.4-28.7cm long, size 11.5 fit perfectly. plain flat insole with minimal arch support, which I prefer. nice roomy toebox which won't cause bunions on my big toe. I also like the extra eyelets up top, makes it very easy to secure the shoe onto my foot. the sole is a bit thin, but quality rubber with good grip. I wish it were a little thicker and stiffer. good for hiking, although a stiffer sole would be perfect. more of an in-between of casual and hiking.

These hiking shoes measured up!!
I purchased these for my boyfriend for our hiking trip through the Mighty Five Utah National Parks. These shoes put on over 60 miles of hiking so far with no visible wear and tear! He says they were very comfortable and he did not experience any blistering coupled with a good hiking sock. The shoe size was true to size and had good traction on a variety of natural terrains. This is a great hiking shoe for those who prefer the less bulky, simple design and comfort from a quality brand!

Perfect shoe
Love these shoes, wear these daily for work (roofing/constuction) . And I’ve done some day hikes in them also, very tough shoe compared to most. I’ve worn them for almost a year.. normally I get 3 months out of other brands.

Great for intended purpose
Needed a pair of semi-off road shoes for international travel that would serve well for trails, stairs, light hikes, some rain, etc... and just everyday walking around the city. I did not want to bring my Columbia hiking boots (size, bulk), even though they wear like comfortable tennis shoes. So far, these North Face Truckees are comfortable, great tread and look good too. They serve everyday wear and trails, where you probably don't want to use your regular ol' tennis shoes. These breathe well, my feet don't get hot, and again... love the aggressive tread. No, they are not waterproof, but the soles and lower trim are, along with mid-level suede serve their purpose against the elements. It's near impossible to get a pair of shoes that both breathe and are entirely waterproof. I wear a true size-12, and these work well with a regular pair of sport socks... but I would be a bit crammed with a pair of hiking or thermal socks. If that's your sock preference, I would probably go a 1/2-size up as others have mentioned. Also, I absolutely swapped out the insoles with a comfy new pair that made a world of difference. For the price, you'd think North Face would invest in a better pair of insoles for just the very reason of comfort alone. Strange.I do like these shoes. Would I buy again? Time will tell, but I will look at other options at this price-point. These are a great hybrid or 'tween' shoes... perfect for travel IMO. *Hope this real review is helpful for anyone who rightfully obsesses in researching shoes (or anything for that matter). Good luck and enjoy -

Seemed like good quality, but two issues, so I returned it.
The build quality looks good. Pretty much like the pictures you see, it's as expected and the reason I bought them. They seem nice and my issues were more with the fit.My issues were two fold. First, it was too small. I wear size 11 in everything. Never had a problem with just about any shoe. Stock 11, fits perfect. In this shoe my toes on foot were striking the rigid toe cap. They kind of formed a very specific curve with the hard toe cap and for some reason it just didn't fit my foot. You simply can't wear a shoe where you strike like that, your feet will scream. Your experience my vary. That was the main reason I had to return it.The other issue, and I didn't wear them a lot (just a test fit) so it's hard to tell for sure, is I felt like was flat footed and leaning backward. I really like a kind of running shoe arch support and forward leaning, whereas these kind of felt like I was wearing a pair of rubber boots. Very underwhelming foot support. Not sure if that would have changed as they broke in. The footbelt felt solid, like it would last a lot of miles, so maybe it was a durability tradeoff.

Better than Salomon Shoes
I was a dedicated Salomon shoes customer for over a decade. I have now switched to these North Face shoes and I love the quality. They seem to last longer than Salomon shoes and hold up better.

Sizing
Liked the fit straight away. They seem to be a quality shoe (haven't had them long) and a good value for the price.

Light and Flexable, Great comfort and traction.
I put these on and was instantly impressed. They mold to your feet and feel like a shoe you've worn for months in a good way. Very light and good traction. I've only had them for about a week or 50,000 steps but so far I really like them. 👍

Good hiking shoe
They are well made but the cowhide trim is hard to maintain.
