Delving into fabric quilting with help
Susan Carlson is like a guru of fabric quilting. I can't say enough about the thoroughness of this book and I use it for reference quite often (along with Emily Taylor's book). With the books and the fact that both authors are on Facebook I have dived into this new (to me) craft completely and I'm loving it.

Great introduction to mosaic quilting
This is a great introduction to mosaic quilting techniques. The photos and instructions are clear and inspire confidence to try this type of craft.

incredible artist - printed on matte paper
I know Susan is an incredible artist, so I was initially very disappointed to see the book printed on matte paper, instead of the usual enamel paper (glossy, smooth, with better saturation of color). I'm sure I will love reading the book anyway, but the many, many photos would look better glossy.

Perfect for learning how to make a collage quilt!
The book was in perfect condition for a used book. It has very detailed instructions about the construction of a collage quilt and for the projects that range from easy to more difficult.

KEEPER!!!
I quit quilting 12 years ago because I was so BORED with the usual...4 blocks across, 5 blocks down routine. I didn’t think there was anything else out there, I just knew my soul wasn’t into it. I happened to see a picture of one of Susan Carlson’s quilts and fell in love. Found out about this book, ordered it, and never looked back. Read it cover to cover several times. Studied pictures on her blog and web page, and jumped in. First project was 3 feet by 4 feet and turned out stunningly. Will NEVER go back to block quilting. I’m having the time of my life.

These art quilts are addictive!!
I have the first book with the fish and have made MANY!! I received this book and looked through it, seriously questioning the method. I've been making quilts and sewing for many years, but I decided to give the spiral a try - OK, lots of glue on my fingers and fabric chips EVERYWHERE, but it seemed to work, so I launched into the reef = LOTS more glue and LOTS more fabric chips. Oh my, it is spectacular!! Needless to say, the reef was followed quickly by the sun and the moon quilts. I will probably make everything illustrated in the book and then try a few of my own design. These quilts are REALLY beautiful and inspire instant oohs and aahs from everyone!!(PS I've gotten better at keeping most of the glue ON the quilt and OFF my fingers!!)

Inspiring technique!
I've seen Sue Carlson's stunning work at quilt shows and have been interested in learning her technique for collage quilts. She explains "how to" with very clear, concise, step-by-step instruction on a few simplified projects.

Fantastic book!
I had Susan Carlson's earlier book and loved it - this one is truly superb and I can't recommend it highly enough. The instruction is practically a course - work your way through it and you build your skills. Inspiring and informative - very highly recommended!
