It's a trim router not a plunge router but great to use, precise and feels quality.
Easy to use. Light weight. Solid. When you plug it in it wont accidentally start even though it only has one on/off button. Dust extractor fits well. Excellent purchase.

Perfect trim router!
I'd previously purchased a much cheaper copy of this trim router. The genuine Makita item is far superior. It feels great in the hand and I have confidence that its been well made, and will last. Controls are easy to use, and accessories are both functional and intuitive. Great little router!

It's pretty good.
I am used to cheap trim routers which I use for making wooden signs / engraving. This is my first one made by a known and respected tooling company. It is smoother and better in every way. My only disappointment is that when fine adjusting the depth, you have to unsnap a locking clip to move the cog but the cog will move slightly when you unsnap the locked clip so it's bit too hit and miss for fine depth adjustment, although still better than my cheap routers.

Easy to handle, light, works well.
Best tool I have. Love this router. Easy to handle, light. I guess the only improvement would be the placement of the on/off switch. I think they're all like this but I don't find it intuitive. Apart from that, it's great. It comes with a guide which is good enough to maintain an even line as it doesn't wobble. I don't use the measurements on the depth guide - that doesn't seem every accurate. It's a small router so the base isn't big meaning you have to be careful when routing near the edge and you might need to ensure there's enough support.
