MerrellMen's Moab 2 Vent Hiking Shoe

Love these Merrill’s! I have worn the Moab’s for years and only buy them to get replacements when they finally wear out. Excellent fit and quality. The perfect support for my feet, as years ago I had a terrible case of plantar fasciitis. Soles are removable to accommodate additional supports if you need them. I wear nothing else when walking, doing yard work, or when I expect to have a long day on my feet. These were an amazing find for me-give them a try! They are worth every penny you will spend!

Bought this for a week long Canoe trip with Scouts BSA. Nothing bad to say. Held up to rough terrain while portaging canoes. Stayed on while launching canoes in muck over my ankles. Drained relatively fast and Dried overnight. Comfortable with no "hot spots" on my feet or ankles. They were severely tested and held up well. Got home and sprayed them off with a garden hose, let them dry, and they look relatively new!

I have been a Merrell hiking shoe wearer for years. I like the support of the shoe and they hold up well. They also fit my feet well. I wear the shoe style because I like my ankle free from rubbing. Some others are too tall on my ankle and rub.

Based on other reviews here I was concerned that the fit of the Moab 2 Ventilator shoes would be worse than the prior version. I was very pleasantly surprised that this was not the case. I find the Moab 2's to be better out of the box than the Moab version. My last pair of Moabs left me with blisters until after a very long break in period. They were tight at the top and the blisters were on the outside of my right heel. The new Moab 2's have been extremely comfortable immediately. I have "put on" about 15 miles so far of quite hilly street walking and find these shoes very comfortable and I have had no issues with either blisters or tightness. I actually like the change in the lacing pattern as it fits the top of my foot better than the predecessor version. I have had no issues with heel looseness at all. I haven't noticed any increase in arch support as some have noted, but am happy with the stability the shoes provide.For background, I have been wearing Moabs for many years starting with the regular ones and shifting to the ventilated models over the past three or four years.Update after four months: Shoes remain extremely comfortable. I walk 5-7 miles a day on rough paved roads. Last pair of Moab vents went about 9 months before the soles were too worn down to use. These Moab 2's seem to be wearing a bit more so far. I doubt I will get six months before needing to replace them. This is unfortunate as the uppers and insoles are still in great shape.

Great fit, comfortable, wear like iron. I have a narrow foot so I'm usually swimming in shoes. These fit great. I wore the hell out of my first pair and they lasted 3 years. The laces failed before the shoes.Will purchase again.

I wrote a review of these shoes earlier just after purchase and have more to say now. They were pretty ridgid in the soles when I first bought them. They are now very comfortable and compliant. They have really held up well. They are a tough shoe. I work as a remodeling contractor and usually wear shoes down pretty fast ,5-6 months.These shoes are still going strong after 6 months! Now highly recommend as an rugged outdoor shoe or work shoe!

I love these shoes but they run about a half size too small. I normally wear an 8.5 but my toes were crunched right to the end of the toe in that size. I sent them back & got a 9,which is perfect. Order a half bigger.

Good material.fit perfectly, good amount of room at the feet area.good support for the hill. No inflammation after a day of walking in it.good amount of breeze after a 8-9 hours shift, but would still get sweaty after like 10-15 hour shifts.good shoe for the price.
