Doom Patrol 3

Not DC’s X-Men like they’ve been called
Doom Patrol bears some similarity to Marvel’s X-Men in that they are a team of super heroes being guided by a paraplegic genius, and to me that’s about all that feels similar in Grant Morrison’s Doom Patrol (he also has a very solid X-men run that is collected in omnibus and other collected editions). Grant Morrison gets a lot of hate for being too out there with his ideas sometimes but he really makes his signature psychedelic weirdness work in his Doom Patrol run. A LOT of truly weird ideas are thrown around in this run but it is important you don’t read too much into that aspect of the book as it might take you out of what’s really important and that is the characters in the Doom Patrol and what they have to say and how they deal with various tragedies they all went through that brought them together to be the super hero team who fights the likes of The Men from N.O.W.H.E.R.E who (spoilers)aim to rid the world of quirkiness and try to kill a being called Danny The Street, who is a sentient and conscious street that can communicate with humans and travel any where. Robotman has become one of my favorite comic characters after reading this run

Grant being Grant
Not as great as the first two volumes, but still a great read!

A little strange
I like the Room Patrol but even this was a little weird. Not a good place to start the series.

Great Ending to Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol
If you enjoyed books one and two, you'll also enjoy this conclusion to what is, in my opinion, Grant Morrison's best work.

Yes. Yes. Yes.
My favorite volume so far, this will rewrite these way your brain works, so just let it. Take in the 50 brilliant ideas a page, let the psychedelic spirits do their work, and emerge on the other side a stronger more creative person.
