This hitch mount carrier really surprised me. This thing is great. I got it because I was taking my dogs along on the summer road trip vacation, and I don’t like car too carriers, but really needed extra storage so I could fit my bigger dog in the back safely. This was quite easy to assemble, I did it by myself start to finish, a ratcheting wrench is extremely helpful for this. To install it I did get my husband’s help because it made it easier for me to get the holes lined up on the hitch and carrier with him holding it for me. It is sturdy- no shimmy, no wobbling, and no flapping from the cargo bag the whole time. It’s also a very versatile size- we fit two suitcases, pool and beach toys, towels, blankets, food, and more, but we could have made small adjustments to fit more or less without losing stability, especially because it included a high quality waterproof bag and decent tie down straps, and a mesh elastic net (which we didn’t need this time), and It was put to the test on both 10 hour trips to and from vacation this summer: we hit some major storms, and really high temperatures, and when I was folding the bag up after we got home I was really stunned that it still appeared brand new, like it hadn’t been through anything at all in all those miles! I was easily able to open and close the back of my mid-sized SUV with the carrier attached and fully loaded, and my 67lb dog had plenty of room to get in and out for pit stops along the way. Several reviews I read before buying commented on their carrier rusting on their first use, we encountered a lot of rain, and were in Florida for lots of our journey, and when I got back home I did not find ANY rust anywhere at all, but I do plan follow the manufacturer instructions and give it a boost with a new coat of rust resistant truck bed liner paint. My ONLY critique about the entire thing (an MINOR one) is that I do feel like the reflective stickers could be improved. One of mine really resisted staying on for whatever reason, and I’m sure it was something with the sticker because I cleaned all 3 spots with alcohol before putting the stickers on, and the other two went on and stayed on perfectly the whole time. I also think it would have been better to include at least 2 more of them so all 4 corners of the carrier could have a reflector on it. I was glad for the thick band of safety orange around the cargo bag, because it really helped provide more visibility to other drivers than the reflectors did. However, even with this criticism, I still give it 5 stars, because the price, overall look, performance, and sturdiness make it a worthy investment, especially if you travel heavy, or with pets, and run out of trunk space quickly.

So we just finished an 18 hour drive. Most of it was at expressway speeds of 75 mph+ and at least half of it was in a rainy downpour. The rack was easy enough to assemble but is much easier with 2 people. Make sure it is CENTERED on your car and tied down properly without loose ends or small open areas that will whistle. If you load your bag properly to be as aerodynamic as you can you'll cut down on noise and increase gas mileage. We did see a loss of about 2-3 mpg as a result which we feel is well worth the extra space. The waterproofing was flawless but again, do it correctly. Your zipper needs to be facing the BACK of the car. All these reviews about poor waterproofing are either user error or perhaps a defect but we had no issues. The clip straps weren't the best quality but we plan to replace them with 2 more ratchet straps instead (this already comes with 2). Load was secure the whole way home from Florida and came out unharmed and dry as a bone. We fit a very large suitcase, 3 backpacks, some shopping bags and a hard 25 gal tote full of dog food in it easily with room to spare. Product seems pretty durable but we've only used it once. For less than $200 for this and the crossbars for our car, I would say it's well worth the price. A hard shell is easily 5x the cost so I would say well worth it. Just use it correctly.

I am completely satisfied and thrilled with how this rack and storage bag worked. It is a very well made and perfectly functional device. Made a long road trip in a 2025 Ford Explorer very comfortable and convenient. Functioned perfectly for the 2025 Explorer and didn't get in the way of anything (lights, gate, license, camera), everything was still completely functional fully packed. Very easy to pack, unpack and secure with the included hardware and straps, which were well designed and a great fit. Easy to assemble, very sturdy and secure, made from plenty tough heavy enough steel, and the bag and straps worked flawlessly, and kept everything completely dry, safe and secure. Made packing and unpacking the rest of the car (a topper too) easier by using it as a work bench and staging stand. Came with instructions, but didn't need them as it was pretty obvious how to assemble and use. I had considered a larger frame, but was very happy with this smaller one for a bunch of duffels and backpacks.

Rack goes together pretty easy. The only thing I don't like about it is that the brackets, I think, are strangely made. They don't actually clamp together around the bars of the rack. It is more of a nub that protrudes from the top brackets and tightens against the bottom bracket. I included pics to see. The other strange thing is that when the knobs are tightened down, a good portion the screw protrudes which would make me think the screws would rip the cargo bag. But it seems sturdy. Overall, it seems alright. Edit: Cargo bag. This bag has held up since coming to Minnesota 7 weeks ago and it has been out in the elements this while time. I've been on a travel assignment, jeep camping. We went through 2 blizzards, some pretty good rain episodes, I had it on the top of the jeep for 5 weeks until I got settled into a permanent camp site and this thing stayed on, didn't get wet, didn't rip, and stayed closed. When I went out, I locked it with holes in the zippers. It can store a lot of stuff in it. I am very glad I got this thing. I did take it off the jeep and it's now just chilling on the ground, holding my extra camping stuff I need as the weather changes and so far, everything has stayed dry. I would definitely buy again!

This hitch made the difference in our 10 hour trip to Florida. It was easy to install and held quite a bit of cargo. We loved that it was streamlined behind the vehicle so as not to interfere much with gas mileage.At the price, we were very happy with it.

The installation instructions were straightforward, just have the right tools to make it a quick install. The mounting was easy too, just align it center to the hitch. Doesn’t come with any reflector so I added reflector tape to the side and bottom lips for precaution. The included waterproof bag works great and completely seals at the zip. The strap quality was good and held up well for 4+ hour trip. This item does not fold, so keep that in mind in terms of after-use storage. The carrier worked well for my needs.

⚠️ Major Safety Concern This cargo carrier sits at approximately 15 degrees nose-up when installed. This isn't a slight tilt. It's severe enough that cargo naturally wants to slide forward and rest against the front rail. I verified the angle with a level and contacted the seller with photos. Seller's Response The seller claimed the 15-degree upward angle is intentional and part of the design. They stated: "An upward angle of about 15° is added when static." According to them, the carrier will supposedly level out once heavily loaded. Why This Is a Problem The 15-degree tilt is not disclosed anywhere in the product listing A cargo carrier should provide a reasonably level loading surface Cargo is forced toward the front rail instead of sitting evenly It would take an unrealistic amount of weight to deflect the thick steel shank enough to level the basket In my opinion, this design is unsafe and the product is not as described. Refund Experience The seller repeatedly tried to avoid issuing a full refund: ✅ First offered a $30 partial refund ✅ Then offered a 40% refund ✅ Then offered a 60% refund ✅ Suggested I keep it, resell it, or find another use for it All while continuing to insist that the 15-degree tilt was "normal." Return and Refund Delays I rejected all partial refund offers and returned the carrier using the prepaid return label they eventually provided. The package was delivered back to the seller on June 21st. The seller stated that refunds would be processed within 1–2 business days after receipt. More than a week later, I still had to contact them and demand my refund. Bottom Line If you purchase this carrier, be aware that the seller may consider a 15-degree upward tilt to be a normal design feature. The unadvertised tilt was bad enough. The repeated attempts to avoid a full refund made the experience even worse. I would not purchase this product again.

Got this on sale on prime day, great for the price for everything that's included. Easy to put together. When installing make sure to not tighten all the nuts and bolts until all the bolts are put into their holes to ensure everything is aligned. The included accessories are all useful. With this our family was able to take one car instead of 2 for our vacation. The bag was waterproof and kept everything dry inside even in heavy rain.
