seem well made, does the job
Only used once so far but seemed to work well. Good electrical contacts with inserted audio plugs. We use this for lo-fi audio applications (300-3000Hz) such as interfacing Windows PCs to radio equipment. I have no idea how these would perform in "hi-fi" applications. I.e., we are listening to 70 year old amateur radio operators, not Shostakovich string quartets.

Simple and effective
I needed something to replace a broken audio jack in my desktop. This was a perfect replacement. Just plug and play, and now everything is working again without having to install an internal card.

It gets the job done
Works as expected for what its intended to do, has little to no downgrading and is simply plug and play.

Works well but not durable enough
I bought this for my son's HyperX Cloud Alpha headset which uses the 3.5mm connectors, and we're preferring to use the USB port on his computers since he takes it back and forth all the time from notebook to desktop and the desktop has difficult to reach audio ports. Sound quality with that headset is excellent. The volume is good and it sounds great. We compared to direct analog connection through the 3.5mm ports and there wasn't much difference. Also, it seems to be coming through in full stereo as it should. No issue here with it playing in mono as some have noted. I suspect that YMMV and that all of these things will depend on the headset you're using with it. Seems like a bit of a gamble still, though, if there is a chance you could buy this interface and have only mono sound or low volume or whatever. We had good luck for it to work with this headset. I cannot deduct a star for what "might" happen with others because I didn't experience that. Had I, though, I would have rated it poorly as others have done. My one complaint, which is why I deducted a star, is that he's only used the headset for 3 months and the adapter has already broken. When he's using the notebook, he's often reclining on a bed with the computer on his lap, and no doubt there is tension being put on the adapter from the blanket underneath or whatever, because some bending right where the metal sleeve that goes into the USB port meets the plastic body of the adapter is what broke it. You can see that the metal part is angled relative to the plastic, and it's worked itself to be quite loose. Electronics inside must have also been stressed. While some might say "be more careful and don't put stress on the plug", I would suggest that it isn't impossible to build a connector like this so that this potential stress point is reinforced better and resistant to that kind of stress, so it certainly could be built to prevent that from happening. Could we expect such a higher quality construction from an $8 piece, though, when a lot of the others cost more than $8? Probably not. That's why I only docked it a single star instead of knocking off 2 or 3 stars. It is hard to expect a highly durable high quality part for the $8. Still, I do expect at least more durability than to get only 3 months out of it. I have bought a replacement but if the replacement also only lasts a few months, I suppose I'll spend more on the next one and try another brand. I don't intend to buy another of these every few months.

Affordable and Convenient Audio Solution for Everyday Use
The Sabrent USB External Stereo Sound Adapter (AU-MMSA) is a compact and budget-friendly device that offers a straightforward solution for adding audio input and output capabilities to computers lacking a built-in sound card or with malfunctioning audio ports. Its plug-and-play functionality requires no additional drivers, making it compatible with various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux . In terms of performance, the adapter delivers satisfactory audio quality suitable for everyday tasks such as video conferencing, voice calls, and casual music listening. However, users seeking high-fidelity audio for professional applications may find its capabilities limited. Some users have reported occasional issues with USB connectivity, such as the device disconnecting or losing signal . Pros: Easy to install with no drivers required. Compatible with multiple operating systems. Compact and portable design. Affordable price point. Cons: Audio quality may not meet the standards of audiophiles or professional users. Potential for occasional USB connection issues. Conclusion: The Sabrent AU-MMSA is a practical choice for users needing a quick and inexpensive way to add or replace audio ports on their computers. While it may not satisfy the demands of high-end audio enthusiasts, it performs reliably for general use and offers excellent value for its price.

Works with anything, anywhere, sounds grate.
I'm visually impaired, totally blind in fact. My accessibility software uses a sound card to tell me what's on the screen. I need sound like most people need video. I'm also in IT, anything from repair to building and configuration. Lately, with Windows Ten, many computers have sound cards that just work, but not all. Servers for example don't often have audio. That's where this little beauty comes in. I've plugged this in to everything. MacOS, IOS, Android, Windows98, XP, all the way up to 11. I've used it with FreeDOS, Debian and many of its variants, Ubuntu for example. I've also successfully used it to ChromeBooks, and several others. I tried it on a TV with speaker damage, even that worked. This little gem isn't always needed for every repair, but when I need sound, I need something that will not fail. This adapter is it. I've even taken it into shops like Best Buy to test a computer before buying it. I have something I can plug my headphones in without disturbing others, and everyone is happy. This adapter also works with IOS and Android with no problem. I'll be picking up a USB-C version when I find one from the same company. There are cords with Lightning, USB-C, MicroUSB, and USB, all in one package for charging things. I'd like to find one like that, but with this adapter in the middle. If you want utterly reliable, no fail sound, this is the adapter for you. I think if NASA needed sound on Mars, they'd pick this adapter, but that's just my opinion and NASA hasn't asked me yet.

Perfetta come seconda scheda audio

Externe Soundkarte ohne Probleme
Klein und gut. Habe durch Update auf Win11 meinen Sound verloren. Schnelle Lieferung. Habe den Artikel an meinem PC zuerst auf USB-A 2..0 angeschlossen, keine Funktion. Nach Wechsel auf USB-A 3.0 wurde die Soundkarte sofort erkannt, und hat umgehend funktioniert.
